Nice! Haven't bought anything S&S related mostly due to international shipping fees lately.
One of the last good bargains was the "Nifft the Lean" series, for around... $10 each(?!?)
The Incompleat Nifft by Michael Shea The A'Rak by Michael Shea

This was actually probably last fall, but on one of my trips to Uncle Hugo's I came home with:

Krull by Alan Dean Foster Clash of the Titans by Alan Dean Foster

David | 5 comments About a month ago... posted about this on my Facebook page:

My last trip to Bloomington, IN's Half Price Books Outlet store netted me a huge haul of great finds of pricey books for $1 each. Books like Nifft the Lean. Several other rare DAWs. Never had that kind of luck before. And all in one go!

Can't remember the other titles off the top o' my head. Gonna blame the HIV on eating my little grey cells.

Been to that store a dozen times or more and have never found much. Guess the planets, gods and swords aligned for me, just that once.

Charles (kainja) | 428 comments My last "haul" was at a small second hand store around here. I picked up 30 Star Trek books that I didn't have, mostly the original series stuff. Been reading on those ever since and that was a few weeks back. They totaled out to less than 50 cents a book, and all were in great condition

I love reading these proud confessions.

Me too. Makes me feel like I'm scoring more hauls to hear about others' great finds.

Richard | 742 comments I got a Lancer edition of The Dying Earth by Jack Vance for only $0.75 today. Printed in the '50's and coming from a thrift store it's in awesome shape.

Nice!

I have a Lancer copy that's autographed, although it wasn't autographed to me or anything -- was already signed when I got it.

Richard | 742 comments Today was a good day. I got this load for $20.
Kalin (Dumarest of Terra #4) by E.C. Tubb
Symbol of Terra (Dumarest of Terra, #30) by E.C. Tubb
Runes (Leitus #1) by Richard Monaco
Sorrowing Vengeance (Fall of the First World, #2) by David C. Smith
The Sharpest Edge by S.M. Stirling

Then these next ones I was super pleased to find.
After Dark (Silver John, #2) by Manly Wade Wellman
Tentacles Of Dawn by Robert Woodrow Wilson
Haakon's Iron Hand (Haakon #3) by Eric Neilson

The one I found is a 1952 edition not the Planet Stories edition.
Robots Have No Tails by Henry Kuttner

And finally this one made my day.
The Devil's Rose by Brom

Richard | 742 comments Went on a mini road trip with the family and found this nice haul:
The Time of Contempt (The Witcher, #4) by Andrzej Sapkowski
Baptism of Fire (The Witcher #5) by Andrzej Sapkowski
The War God (Haakon #4) by Eric Neilson
A Dream of Kinship by Richard Cowper
Tarzan at the Earth's Core (Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan, #13) (Pellucidar, #4) by Edgar Rice Burroughs
Nightwalker (The Warlocks of Talverdin, #1) by K.V. Johansen
The Beating of His Wings (The Left Hand of God, #3) by Paul Hoffman
The Castings Trilogy (Castings, #1-3) by Pamela Freeman
Planet of Peril (Robert Grandon, #1) by Otis Adelbert Kline
The Swordsman of Mars by Otis Adelbert Kline
The Outlaws of Mars by Otis Adelbert Kline
Prince of Peril (Robert Grandon, #2) by Otis Adelbert Kline
The Port of Peril (Robert Grandon, #3) by Otis Adelbert Kline

Some I found at a flea market near here, but most I found at a new store called 2nd and Charles. They are owned by Books a Million and their location in Athens, GA was awesome. They carry used books, comics, games, legos, music, and dvds. It's a thrifter's dream come true.

Kline is one of those guys who's been on my TBR pile for approximately ever; the problem is figuring out which editions are actually the best/most complete.

message 22: by Richard (new)

Richard | 742 comments These say complete and unabridged. *shrugs*
I didn't take that into account, Joseph. I've only over read Infernal Sorceress, and it was okay.

I'll definitely be interested to hear what you think -- I've enjoyed the Witcher books I read, and the Tarzan is a classic of the first water.

With this new Tarzan title I acquired, I almost have a complete Ballantine edition set.
