Dystopia Review Group 1: Reviewing

In joining this review group you agree to review the novels assigned to you on a two month schedule. When the sign up phase is over then the review stage will start. The Dystopia Review Group 1 will include all types of novels classified as any type of dystopia including but not limited to science fiction, disaster, religious, economic and/or political. As with other review groups, you will be expected to read and give an honest review of the book assigned to you. Assignments will be made after the group sign-up has filled.

Participants are expected to post reviews to Goodreads. If the Goodreads review is positive (three stars or higher), the review should be posted to Amazon at the same star level, if the book is available there. This makes having accounts with both Goodreads and Amazon (.com and .co.uk) a requirement.

If a reviewer and the author agree that the review should not be posted to Goodreads due to quality issues, the reviewer is relieved of the requirement of posting the review. If this occurs in the first round, the second reviewer is relieved of the requirement to read and review the book. This is entirely at the discretion of the reviewer and is not intended in any way to manipulate the rating of any book.

Contact the authors you are scheduled to review to arrange to receive a review copy of their work. Ideally use the GR direct message system to exchange email addresses, avoiding scammers.

Please post to this topic, both when you receive review copies and when you post the reviews.

If you are going to be late with your review, either post to this topic as soon as possible or message the author and the moderator.

If your book has not been reviewed by the deadline for either round, contact the review group moderator. This is necessary to make certain that the review process is fair for everyone.

Welcome to L.N., Katherine and James. I'm not sure what happened to two other authors who I thought wanted this genre review group? But I've sent out a more general announcement so please be patient while we wait for three more writers.
Thanks, G.J.

I've also flagged it with A.J. Culey as I read Sehmah's truth in another review group here and thought it'd be a good fit...

Hey, L.N. and James that's a great move! The more the merrier (?) or should that be the gloomier? It is dystopian after all :-(

Hi again, Chance. I can't recall which way round the reviewing went? I must look back through the many "folders" :-)

Anyway, you are welcome.

Hi Lars, I am adding you to the list of members in this group but you need to tell me which of your books you want to submit for a review.
To everyone, I will be posting the schedule of review assignments very soon, so just to remind you about letting me know ASAP if you have read someone else's book in this group (as per L.N.'s message). Reciprocal reviewing is not permitted in the GR group. Please do not exchange books until we are all sure that this situation does not exist here. The reviews will most likely commence Sunday/Monday depending on this info' reaching me.
Thanks G.J.

message 20: by Katherine (new)

Update:
Here is the Schedule of Review Assignments.

Review Assignments will: Start on 17 July and End 11 Sept 2016

Round One:
runs from 17 July to 14 Aug 2016

1. L.N. Denison reviews Katherine Espano
2. Katherine Espano reviews Chance Maree
3. Chance Maree reviews Lars Teeney
4. Lars Teeney reviews James Devo
5. James Devo reviews Inna Harrison
6. Inna Harrison reviews L.N. Denison

Round Two:
runs from 14 Aug to 11 Sept 2016

1. L.N. reviews Chance (different book)
2. Katherine reviews Lars
3. Chance reviews James
4. Lars reviews Inna
5. James reviews L.N.
6. Inna reviews Katherine

NOTES: Contact the authors you are scheduled to review (Links above in message 1) to arrange to receive a review copy of their work. I strongly suggest that you do not exchange email addresses through this topic stream but use the GR direct message system, to avoid scammers and co.

If you are all OK with this (and cannot see a conflict) then let the Reviewing commence on 17 July.
Please post to this topic, both when you receive review copies and when you post the reviews (with links to your review). If you are going to be late with your review, either post to this topic as soon as possible or message the author and the moderator directly.

A polite “Thank you, Reviewer Name” from the author is a pleasant way of acknowledging a review and all that is expected. I hope we all agree that it is not seemly or very professional to publicly engage in unpleasant banter or rant about one’s review.

Your moderator is G.J. Griffiths
Thank you.

Undazzled could be viewed as dystopian, but less so than Dark Matter Tiding. It is also on KU. Let me know if its close enough to be of interest.
