E.M. Swift-Hook | 13 comments I came across this and thought there might be people here who would be interested.

The American Philosophical Association is running a competition for short stories in a speculative genre which also explore one or more philosophical ideas. It says it is open to everyone - but that might just mean everyone in the APA, I suppose. Closing date is 1 Feb 2017. Anyway, if you think you might be interested you can check it out here.

Eugene | 74 comments I always thought I would explore all kinds of great philosophical ideas in my stories. Be the next Ursula LeGuin. But I just looked back, and, no, they're stories, first.

Neither do I enjoy all those political songs I used to love when I was a kid.

Great suggestion, though. It's a real contest, not one of those $25 entry fee for $100 prize (cancelled if there aren't at least 10 entries).
