Reminder: Publication date for new alternate-cover editions should be the current year and month (or the date the cover was changed, if known).

Mohamed Yosri (yosri) Is this the standard approach?, since this will give incorrect info. Other people would hesitate to correct the publication date if it exist vs. putting it in if it is blank. I know that I would.

Amazon dated this as 2014

That's when that ASIN was originally released, but not the new cover.

Please review the relevant Manual section: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/8...

Mohamed Yosri (yosri) Oh!! Ok..

Note: The publication date for an alternate-cover edition should be the date the book was released with the new cover

I thought you mean "the current year and month (Jul/2016)" and not the actual cover release date.

When authors ask for a new cover to be added, it usually is the actual cover release date (or within a few days of it), so using the current month and year is correct in most cases.
