S.Q. Eries (sqeries) | 4 comments I just finished the book last night. The portrayal of early 1980s USSR was pretty interesting as was Marina's impressions of New York City. I could have done without the constant use of Russian phrases immediately followed by their English translation though. I wasn't particularly thrilled with the "second sight" aspect of the story, even though i liked the element of the Lukino incident. But it was weird how Georgi's transcript drops from the story, and doesn't really return even after the disc debacle.
