Sefiastar | 2 comments Promote your Indie Book with our Seal of Excellence to prove your High Quality and Excellent Style. Show your readers that you are worth your money and that your book is up to professional publisher's standards. A lot of readers shy away from Indie Books because many of them are of poor quality with lots of mistakes, no editing and poor storylines. If you are awarded our seal, then your readers can be sure to get worth for their money.

It might mean more if the website actually states who you are and your credentials. Having a 'star' from a nameless 'person' or 'persons' is about as much use as a chocolate teapot, and makes you look unprofessional and desperate.

Selfiastar's goodreads profile is set to private, they have no ratings or reviews and do not identify themselves on their website apart from as 'a Partnership of Professional Authors and Editors, working with some of the most Dedicated and Enthusiastic Readers in the world.'

They intend to charge for this service.

If you have any doubts, read the blurbs of the two books that have received this 'award'. There are many 5 star reviews, most of them one word or one sentence long that use the word 'excellent' a great deal without mentioning any details of the book.

This is from the bio of one of the two authors on amazon:
Sign up to **** New Release email list and you'll automatically get notified as soon as his next book is released (plus get some FREE copy's of his to work to get started)

I would have deleted this post but I think its important that indie authors know that 'services' such as this exist so that they can avoid them.

Sefiastar | 2 comments Yes, we are a new company. Yes, that means we do not have a big name or high reputation yet. Yes, as a company we are going to charge for our work-intensive service. And yes, we do not identify our authors and reviewers - unless they want us to - in order to protect them from getting drawn into arguments with authors we may have to disappoint.
We offer our own quality assessment of the book without any connection to other reviews.
We only offer a service that authors might find helpful. If this post and such an offer is offensive in this folder, then please delete it.
