Linda (linda_green) Let us know when your campaign is up!

message 3: by Ann (new)

Ann Pratley (ann_m_pratley) Go for it, Lizabeth ... I've put two through already that were rejected but I've gotten up for a third round and currently have a third one in that has another couple of weeks to go yet (https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/2400...)

Make sure you post your link when you put yours up, so we can all support each other in here, and I know to nominate you!

Two rejections down, I can only say 'don't wait - just jump in and give it a go'!

Thank you, Ann! This has been a hard decision for me to make. But whether I get in or not, it's been a wonderful learning experience. Much luck in your campaign. I did nominate you and will continue to share you on my FB page.

James Paddock (jameswriter) | 52 comments Now the 3rd day into my book on Kindle Scout, I'm finding I'm not getting any other writing done, spending all my time pushing myself on everybody I know and don't know... way out of my comfort zone by-the-way. Got 11 hours of Hot and Trendy though I don't know if it means anything. The trip is interesting to say the least.

Driven by Death ... https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/3FX8...

James, that is awesome news - 11 hours of hot and trending? Ohh so jealous ... with my third book of submission in there right now I can tell you honestly that out of all three books, not one has reached even one hour of hot and trending ...

It has to be a very good sign, doesn't it ... well done !

(did I mention, ohh so jealous?!)

;)

James Paddock (jameswriter) | 52 comments Will see what happens, Ann, when I run out of people to tell. I did get a great hit from a Canadian author friend with 400k+ twitter followers. He kicked it out on his network. Shall see.

BTW, Painful Deliverance is on my saved list.

message 12: by Ann (new)

Ann Pratley (ann_m_pratley) Thanks ... yes in hindsight I would have to say that thinking well ahead and getting an entire worldwide network of 'friends' out there before doing something like Kindle Scout would be most effective ... quite a difficult task for us shy people in the world! But I admire the authors I've read blogs of, and the lengths they have gone to - some of them seem to be working full time just on social media marketing, so it is good to see such efforts rewarded when they secure the contract.
:)

Lizabeth Scott (lizabeth_scott) | 25 comments Thank you, everyone! I submitted my book yesterday, 7/10/16! I'm currently in review. The waiting has begun. If you'd like minute by minute details, you can go here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/11205...
Maybe not minute by minute, but you'll hear it here first!
Fingers crossed,

Well done Lizabeth .. it is good to take the step and just put it out there - nothing to lose, right! I shall keep an eye out for it!

My book Jester is on its sixth day now. The experience is pretty intense and time consuming, but I like it so far.

I, too, am on my sixth day Kindle Scout with Driven by Death . It is hard to keep up the push day after day. I worry that after a while my Facebook friends are going to get tired of me and Twitter seems to do nothing. I find social networking very frustrating when I'm not able to gauge the results. The campaign stats help, but don't tell the whole story.

Kathy Golden | 127 comments See if you can find some authors or bloggers willing to share your book with their audience. Also google "Kindle Scout Reviews" or "Promote your book on Kindle Scout" and see if some of these suggestions from other authors can help you. One author says she used a gig on fiverr: https://www.fiverr.com/melrock

Maybe you can chat with the seller to see if she can offer any help.

N S (nathaliesaade_author) Hi All! My Kindle Scout campaign kicked off 3 hours ago, first one for me: https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/3CF5...
So exciting and nerve wracking at the same time! I know many of us are shy when it comes to promoting ourselves (are writers shy in general? it certainly is starting to seem that way) but I guess if we don't we won't get anywhere =) I have a facebook page and a twitter account and I found that reaching out to authors in similar genres as your novels can be a big help (some of them really do reply!). I had J.R. Ward, who is one of my biggest writing inspirations, like one of my tweets which was really motivating for me. If you develop a solid relationship with them they would be willing to help you out, especially the ones who are self published and successful themselves (of course you'd have to have knowledge of their work hehe).

Oh Lizabeth, you are on the hot and trending right now! It is the first time I've actually seen someone from in here in that list right at the same time that I happened to be looking at it! (I'm usually a bit slow and try to not look at the site as much as possible!)

Oh my gosh ... how do you do that?? All of you who jump into the hot and trending in those first 48 hours - I am in awe!

Congrats though ... looking good!

I didn't even know I was HOT! A friend emailed me the news. I have no idea! I feel so blessed to have this wonderful interest in my book. I'll be talking about everything on my daily blog post if you'd like to visit. www.lizabethscottbooks.com

Ann Pratley (ann_m_pratley) Lizabeth, I looked at your website and was blown away by the youtube 'trailer' for your scout book ... do you feel that those trailers help in attracting so many people voting for your book?

Thank you so much, Ann. Kathy Golden created my trailer. I do believe that a good trailer attract attention and possible clicks/sales. I have no scientific evidence of this, just my opinion. Plus, I love to look at others trailers to find out what their books about so maybe others do too.
