I am definitely liking it, and I'm glad that since it's a sequel, there's less need for slow plot explanation at the beginning, which was an issue I had with the first one.

I read book 1 a really long time ago so I don't really remember much from it! but so far, i'm liking this one!

I think he's one of the red capes - possibly the leader. Remember in the beginning when he was bossing everyone around?

Wowee, Trisha, you read fast! Sorry if I'm a little behind, but I just hit Chapter 20!

Micah: (view spoiler)[ I don't know, there's something about him that's making me think he isn't the one to blame. I still don't like Cal, but then again, Felix seemed fine throughout the first book, and he turned out to be the one possessed. It's so hard to tell when it comes to the possessions, because they can hide it so well! (hide spoiler)]

Dan: (view spoiler)[ I've been trying to read slowly, just because so much has come up at this point, Warden Crawford's childhood, the circus, the hypnotism. I think there's been someone tampering with Dan's memories the whole time, maybe there haven't been any ghosts at all! There's certain studies (if you believe in hypnotism I guess) about "trigger words", so when the victim hears them, they "activate" in a way with whatever the hypnotist tells them to do. Maybe there's a certain phrase or action that Dan hears or sees every time before he sees the boy -- that could at least explain that haunting part. Then all the rest of it can be hypnotism as well, including the dreams and the hallucinations. (hide spoiler)]

Abby: (view spoiler)[ I don't know if it's just me, but even after all this time, I don't trust her. I understand that she's worried about Lucy (and who wouldn't be, that poor woman has definitely been either hypnotized or possessed) but I just feel like at some point, an ulterior motive is going to come up for her. Dan's Parents: (view spoiler)[ Whitney, I totally agree with you. Maybe there's something they know that he doesn't -- we haven't really learned a whole lot about Dan's adoption or birth parents, even though he's mentioned it when bringing up relation to Warden Crawford. (hide spoiler)]

Boy: (view spoiler)[/Warden Crawford as a boy. I've been thinking about the timeline, if he was around 10 or 12 in the 20s (I think that's when they said the circus time was) and if the warden was still alive, he'd be about 102. Now, stay with me, what if he's like an old man in a lab somewhere with cronies running around (cape guy) and has found an ability for mind control and hypnosis? Call me crazy, but I'm a conspiracy theorist :) (hide spoiler)]

Sorry it took so long, but I'm done! Definitely an interesting sequel and it has me itching for the next one!

Micah: (view spoiler)[I was wondering who was going to be the sacrifice in this book, as almost all horror/thrillers have one, and unfortunately we got a double whammy with Micah and Lara. It's an awful and gory way to go, but I'm glad Roux didn't make it more graphic. Unfortunately, I think that both he and Lara died tragically on the grounds, so they'll spend eternity haunting it. Cal: (view spoiler)[Part of me wishes that he would have been the one to die, but I guess I'm glad he was redeemed at the end. I think once I finish the series, I'll go back and look at characterization details for people who were brainwashed, just because throughout it you really don't know who to trust! (hide spoiler)]

Dan: (view spoiler)[God, this poor kid. I definitely think with the details about him being a descendent that the "brainwashing" thing is stronger. There's definitely some ghost/psychic stuff, and maybe the Warden got into it and was so good at it because he had a natural gift for it too, along with the necklace. But I still want to know where that darn thing came from. (hide spoiler)]

I can't wait to get started on the next one ASAP!
