I love funny books and write them. Is there a description somewhere of exactly what Comedy Book Week is?
Looking forward to it :). Do you need the links for my reviews when they're up? If so where should I contact you?
Rob, ComedyBookWeek is a chances for indie authors of comedy to showcase their work with book bloggers doing reviews, interviews, etc during this one week. it's a new thing created by Ana together with other indie authors and you can read more about it on her site, a few blog posts ago. I'd give you the link but I'm sending this via the Goodreads app (not sure I like using it!) Hope that helps :)
Thank you!
I've just bought www.ComedyBookWeek.com and will set it up during the next week, for now you can see participating authors on: https://anaspoke.com/2016/06/05/comed...
Email is best, it's ana (dot) spoke (at) yahoo (dot) com

Man, was I surprised when I clicked on CBW.com and saw a generic doctor's site. Then I wondered if it was a brilliant comedy move. I've decided it is and it made me chuckle. :)
There is a bookshelf for the group; let's all each add our own books. I started it, and went about half-way from the top before the books of Frankie Bow caught my attention, and I shirked my librarian effort.
I got an invite to this group, and I'm a reviewer rather than an author. Is there something I can do on here, or should I go to the main website? :-)
Welcome! You can do plenty. Pick a book, any book from the bookshelf to review, and to post the review on your website, or GR, or Twitter. Some bloggers also do interviews with the authors. You can contact the authors directly, but then, of course, check in with our leaser, Ana.
Sorry, I just bought the website and have not yet set it up...but, uhm, yes, totally planned for the laugh!
The website will be set up shortly, for now I'm using the following blog posts to organise the books and events:
1. Participating books: https://anaspoke.com/2016/06/05/comed...
2. Calendar of Events: https://anaspoke.com/2016/06/13/comed...

Website looks great :). Not sure what signing up to the book bloggers mailing list will do. Also if I can ask, what'll happen on the facebook event? I'm still new to facebook and am clueless about events.
Signing up means you're on a mailing list - nothing will happen until I send out an email. This will be the list to remind people when the event goes live, and to prompt them for the next year.
In terms of Facebook event, I'm not 100% sure, as this is my first one, but I'm guessing it will be reminders and ability to comment on the event. I think it's okay that we are all learning as we go - this means we will be better off on the other end :-)

I'll be reducing prices of my books for the week if you need the amounts I can send to you. Maybe would be a good idea to list authors who are running promotions for readers?Just a thought :)
Send. E-mail. To. Ana. She .... controooooolssss ... the logistics. ana.spoke@yahoo.com
But to add your book here, check out the upper right, click "bookshelf," search for your book.
OK, this is weird. I tried adding your books, and some of them would not add. I wonder if a books needs to have an Amazon number to be added?
Thank you, Portia! I was able to do both them crazy internet thingies emailing peeps and adding books without needing a cocktail to get me through. I almost felt 39.Whew!
Portia wrote: "Oh to be 39 again ... Now all you need to do is review my book."
I'm so easy . . . I just bought it. Will read and review within a week or so. Unless, of course, I can't remember what the hell that glowing box is sitting on my desk. It looks vaguely like a TV but when I point the remote at it, nothing happens.
Haha! Sorry, the directions were written by someone over 40. But she promises real hard-like to look at it again and make the website more user-friendly.
Thank you, Maria :-) Just you wait, next year will be off the hook. Make sure to sign up as either author, or book blogger, or both - see About tab on the website.
Ok, please don't hate me but I've kind of added a horse to the #CBW banner. I made a post on MyTrendingStories trying to boost the word of #CBW and it didn't allow a low pixel image which the banner was...Please don't hate me for it whoever designed it! And yeah I accidently cut off the bottom...oops!Here is the offending horse image: https://mytrendingstories.com/article...
:o
I'll be doing an update either tonight or tomorrow about it and I'll make sure to share everywhere I can :)I'm happy to do interviews if people want to interview me for their blogs.
Hi, everyone,
If you have an event on the Calendar of Events, please send me the post-specific URL. Otherwise, in the future, the post will get buried under other, newer posts, and that will frustrate visitors.

I'll get them to you when I'm home from work. My work blocks my website so won't let me get the URL's but I'll send them when I can.I have 3 scheduled so far but will add the others this evening and over the weekend and send you the urls :)
It may be worth noting HOW TO GET A URL of a scheduled post: click on a link icon to the left of the title (after you are happy with the title). Then press "copy."
Dear ComedyBookWeekers, Ana's site now has the "donate" button.Let's surprise her with donations before the sun is up in Australia. I just gave. Comment when you give, too. Even a dollar counts!
I made a small donation by paypal. I will make a bigger one when my daughter returns with my debit card lol she thinks that thing is bottomless. Lets hope she didn't test that theory. :)

I hope others will realize how much she has put into this with her own money. She never has mentioned paying her back. I am proud to help out with it! <3Portia wrote: "Vicki, you are awesome.
But where are the other 99%?"
I just made a donation, too, though I'm pretty much not taking part in this thing this year. I'm hoping she'll be up for doing it next year and I can plan for it better. I am so far behind in just about everything in my life right now I swear I see my ass in front of me.
Can you imagine how successful it is going to be next year considering how well it is doing this week? Thank you again guys - the event so far cost me $150 and about 200 hours, so your help is very much appreciated.
I've had several requests to hold the next event sooner than a year, so I'm thinking mid-January. I've also given some thought to how to reward those who have contributed either financially, or by posting a review, or both - I will post on the website once I have it figured out, but the main idea is such: if you have posted at least one book review, your own book gets bumped up to the top of the Participating Book List. The more reviews, the higher up you go. Those who have donated actual money, will be at the very top, and a donation of $25 or over will get you a side banner. If I get enough to cover the costs, I will invest the rest into Twitter and Google ads.

Just donated :)With any luck we can get this to be an ongoing event! And thanks to Ana for her tireless running around.
I'll donate when I have enough to donate, got my holiday coming up and I'm living on what I have, but I will donate for sure at some point :)
It's a good point to make. We shouldn't make those people who really can't afford to donate money feel bad for being unable to at the moment. I think doing things like reviews, interviews, promoting, etc are just as valuable. And for those of us who don't have a funny book out?.....Promotion of our blog perhaps? lol I'm not being pushy but I can't help but want to grow my following, especially as I've only really been book blogging since December! :D:D
I'll definitely donate, I think it's a good idea. My website isn't really used for reviews and I don't get time to read much to stack up some reviews so donating is probably the best for me.However, next time I'll be happy to do another run of interviews and I will have a think if there's something else I can do on my page.
I probably haven't actually made it clear my books are on sale, so I'll probably have to start by actually self promoting myself better! haha
Having CBW twice a year sounds like a great idea too! Twice yearly and if we settle on rough dates us bloggers will have plenty of time to prepare for the upcoming weeks :). I'd definitely like to do more on my blog in general and with more time I could really go nuts!Btw I wasn't saying that people won't donate I just meant that not ever person is able to and some people might be staying quiet about it :o!
We definitely need to get some more people particularly bloggers posting here too! This should be ideas central :)
