I loved Pillars of the Earth! I might join your conversation here, even though I'm not planning on a re-read.

Mindy Jones (mindyrecycles) Allison, please do! Sonya, are you with us? LOL I'm finishing up Ben Franklin's autobiography and then I'm diving into Pillars.

Mindy Jones (mindyrecycles) I saw this book for sale in the gift shop at Mont St Michel a couple of weeks ago, that's why I was interested in it and jumped on Sonya's suggestion. Sheesh, I'm already mesmerized. I can't believe I'm not skimming the architectural descriptions. Follett is amazing.

Mindy Jones (mindyrecycles) Did you finish, Sonya? I'm on page 400-something. I am really interested in the plot and characters, but I think the little details are still my favorite...just the stuff about how people lived, which was only barely in many cases it seems! Tough, tough people.
