Michael Grenetz | 16 comments Hello,

The English edition of RAGE doesn’t seem to be surfacing correctly on Goodreads. Here’s the link to its page.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

But when you visit the homepage and search for “Rage” with the author’s name, the Polish edition surfaces:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Also, if you go to the author’s entity page, the English version doesn’t appear at all:

https://www.goodreads.com/author/list...

Please let me know if you can help fix it,

Michael

Only one edition of each work will show up on the author's page and list of books. Unless it has been manually set by the author (and in this case that's not possible, as the author has not claimed their profile), that will be the edition shelved by the most users.

Michael Grenetz | 16 comments This title has multiple language editions and so if it can only show one at a time, that's problematic. We actually publish (at Amazon Publishing), many translated titles every year and haven't encountered this before. It sounds like it might help if the author the claims the profile?

Thanks,

Michael

Abcdarian | 19392 comments If you click on any edition you will see a link to "All Editions" (also one to "Other Editions" that works similarly) which lists all the editions of that book on Goodreads, in whatever language or format. Why should something originally written in Polish and most often read & shelved in Polish have to show first in English? (Not trying to be confrontational here, I just don't quite see the problem. All books work this way on Goodreads.)

Michael Grenetz | 16 comments That's a good question. We have recently translated the book to English and are about to promote it to an English audience with a significant marketing push as if it were a new release. It would be ideal for the English version to show up easily when English-speakers look for the author - and the author has also requested this.

Yes, if they want a specific edition to be the default, they will need to claim the profile.
