For those planning to attend on June 12: Bring some ideas for things you'd like to read during the rest of 2014, as we'll be picking the next 6 books for our list!General ideas about group picks: We avoid using the same author two years in a row. We try to stay aware of author diversity and also try to mix-up the styles of books that we read (classic, YA, literary, comic, short stories, magic realism, hard SF, post-apocalyptic, high fantasy, etc).

so, unfortunately, i won't be able to attend the discussion this week. but i wanted to throw in a couple suggestions for consideration as you make the list for the next 6 months: embassytown by china mieville, 2312 by kim stanley robinson, rupetta by nike sulway, and atomik aztek by sesshu foster (this one might be harder to get ahold of…).i'll miss you all! have a great discussion.
