Normally, I can rely on the conspiracy theorists to simply compete for the Nobel Prize for Best Wackadoodle, however there may actually be a smidgen of truth in this shot. I mean, what the hell are Polysorbate 60, Red 40, mono and diglycerides, calcium sulfate and why are they in my Twinkie?

message 22: by Gary (new)

Gary Jones (gfjones_dvm) | 123 comments Mono and diglycerides are used as emulsifiers. Glycerides are made from triglycerides of plant and animal origin. Triglycerides are normally found in your blood--think of it as the lipid equivalent of glucose. Blocking triglyceride uptake by cells in your body will lead to cachexia, an extreme loss of body weight.
Calcium sulfate (also known as plaster of Paris or gypsum) is used as a coagulant in Tofu and a thickener in other foods. If it's in tofu AND in your Twinkee, it must mean your Twinkee is a health food, right?
Red 40 is a dye.
Why would a person who eats Twinkees be concerned about the health effects of what they are eating?
Polysorbate 60 is an emulsifier, thickener, and stabilizer. It is a waxy substance used as foaming agent in beverages, to help chocolate coatings not taste greasy, and aid in absorption of fat soluble vitamins in supplements.

I appreciate the info, Gary. However, I do not eat Twinkies, and the question was rhetorical, as in, it led to the punchline (pic). But, thanks. If I ever decide to poison myself...er...eat a Twinkie, I'll keep it in mind.

Thanks, Brenda. You're a true friend!

However, your post does bring up a somewhat annoying female habit. That is, this irrational insistence on warm hands. Let's be honest, nothing quite spoils a romantic mood like the object of your desire screaming, "Eeeeek!" and jumping to the other side of the room simply due to a minor temperature variation. It seems to me that there must be a more civilized way for the groper and the gropee to handle such situations.

Here's the methodology, Jay: Stick your hands down your OWN pants. When the surface temperature of your hands matches that of your nether regions, then you can feel free to show her your best moves.

Now, we know that if you find your significant other with his hands down his own pants, he is just being considerate. The internet porn site is purely coincidental.
