Spiralling out from a different topic, here are some fictional genres!

- Preternatural romance

- Urban gentrification fantasy

- Greco-Roman noir

- Neo-cosmopolitan

- Post-topian horror

What types of books do you think belong in these? Have fun, be weirdly specific, all that wonder and whimsy.

Feel free to make up your own and the rest of us will play along :D

Let's see if I can think of some, I'll try to be serious but if they come off as funny my bad..
-Science Non-Fiction
-Historical Fantasy
-Poepunk(Like Lovecraftian horror except with Poe elements of horror)

Chad Lorion (goodreadscomcmichaellorion) Urban gentrification is funny! UGF!

message 4: by Lily (new)

Lily Vagabond (lilyauthor) Pre-Utopian Fantasy. lol

I can't think of any titles that would fit these various made up genres, but it is funny.

Virginia Rand Dude, Unicorn Western: Full Saga. I would love to write this type of crazy thing!

message 10: by Thomas (new)

Thomas Everson (authorthomaseverson) Funny story. I was told that Scifi-Fantasy wasn't a thing. That it was either sci-fi or fantasy but couldn't be both. Does that count?

message 11: by G.G. (new)

G.G. (ggatcheson) | 506 comments @Thomas I'd love for that person to explain to me why it can't be both!

Patrick Rutigliano | 85 comments My first novel is post-apocalyptic period pulp. Crazy as that sounds.

Sure Courtney! I'm actually working on a Poe type work but nothing major yet.

Sci-Fi Westerns and Western Horror are considered Weird Westerns although some are more of each individual genre then others.
