Okay, I know I said we wouldn't focus on YA books, but the movie trailer for this book drew me in. Greg is a senior in high school, just trying hard to get through without being noticed. I am on chapter 10- I put the "ass" in "casanova," and he has made me chuckle several times so far.

Two things about this book: 1) I feel like I should have been a lot more moved than I was 2) Greg never resolved a central problem: that he tries to avoid problems by avoiding true friendships. I am not sure that he has changed that much in his approach to life, even though his experiences are life-changing.

The movie followed the book pretty closely. I liked seeing the movies that Greg and Earl make come to life, they were quite clever.
