Leila Summers (leilasummers) | 770 comments Getting reviews for your book is, in my opinion, one of the most important tools for book promotion. Direct review swaps with other authors are against Amazon policies and those reviews may be removed. I have therefore created this Round Robin for authentic review exchanges which do not involve reviewing the same author's book that you buy and review.

It is required that you purchase the book that you are going to review so that it shows up as a 'verified purchase' review on Amazon. And it is logged as an extra sale which is good for rankings.

-- PLEASE READ BEFORE JOINING --

- Look at the latest comment to see which books are currently up for purchase and review. Only two books will be available at a time.

- If it is something that appeals to you, then you can comment and accept that you will go ahead and purchase that book right away and commit to write a review when you have finished it. The review should be done within a reasonable time frame.

- You then (at the same time) add your book title, link and Kindle price to the comment, and the next person will then purchase and review your book as it will be the latest one available.

** Please note that all reviews need to be honest and the star rating must be a genuine rating.

** There is no limit to how many times you add your book, you obviously just need to purchase the one above before adding your book again.

** Only one reviewer for each book each time it is added. Please check comments carefully to make sure that no one else has already taken that book. If you buy a book that is not the latest one available, you cannot add your book.

** Book MUST be a memoir!

Please PM me if you have any queries, do not post them on the thread as it gets confusing. Off topic comments will be deleted.

UPDATE: Amazon's new review policies state that you must have spent at least $50 on Amazon in order to be able to review a book. If you haven't yet done this, unfortunately you won't be able to take part in this exchange until you have!

ANOTHER UPDATE: We also have a fair use purchase agreement -- Most of the authors in this group have their memoirs priced at under $5.99. If a book is much more than that, we request that the author consider compensating the reader who chooses their book in some way to make up the difference. Usually with an Amazon gift card.

Let's try it... I'll begin...

Leila Summers (leilasummers) | 770 comments It Rains In February: A Wife's Memoir of Love and Loss is the true story of the year that led up to my husband's suicide and the year of grief, profound loss and self discovery that followed. It is not necessarily for the faint hearted :) Kindle price $5.99

Sharon Coleman (sjcoleman) | 15 comments Leila. I'd love to read your book. My memoir is also not for the faint of heart and is also, coincidentally, about suicide.
So lets ball our eyes out together!

I "purchased" your book through kindle unlimited and will get to reading tonight.

Mine is available here: Only What You Need

Here's the back cover blurb:

Their mother told them they were unicorns. Their grandfather told them they were related to mice. Their uncle told them he knew all about their Twiglets. And so Sharon and her sister believed in dreams.

But when six-year-old Sharon's nightmares start coming true, and their mother tries to kill herself again and again, the kid catcher comes and takes them away.

The girls move ... and move ... and move. Until Sharon dreams her mother is dead one last time ...

message 8: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Coleman (sjcoleman) | 15 comments Lucinda,
Yours sounds interesting too. I had to look up what NPD is. Seems fitting that someone with NPD would want to write a book about themselves!
I'll put yours on the "next to read" list.

Thanks,
Sharon

Lucinda Clarke | 119 comments I wasn't very clever there Sharon was I? No, my mother had NPD and I had a hellish childhood :)

Thanks Sharon, I'm keen to read as many memoirs as possible and I hope to get to yours too :) How this round robin works suits me because as soon as I've finished reading one, I'll come back here and purchase another one and so on. I'm busy with a book at the moment...

Up for grabs on the round robin right now is Lucinda's book -

Susan Segovia-Munoz (susansegoviamunoz) | 40 comments Hi Leila! This sounds really good! I will purchase your book right now! My memoir is about the struggles of a young woman "me" fighting and dealing with substance abuse, prostitution, jails, felonies, and eventually prison. The last book of the series will have a definite happy ending, and I sure hope that one day it will help someone struggling with the same issues. I want to show that people can and do change. Happiness and success only happens with hard work and perseverance . Sweet Melissa is a series, and I have only published Book One as of today. It is called "Sweet Melissa:Ignorance is not Bliss Book One. The second book of the series will be out in a week or so. Hope you will enjoy it, and be anxiously awaiting Book Two! Book Two will include more disorders, such as bulimia and anorexia, sexual orientation, and more!

Hi Susan, this is a round robin which means that the only book available for purchase is the one that was listed last - not mine! Whoever wants to purchase that book then gets to list their book next. In other words, only one book is up for purchase at a time and only one person can buy that book to partake in the round robin. Does that make sense? Read the instructions above :)

Thanks for purchasing my book though! I hope to read yours too at some stage!

Leila Summers (leilasummers) | 770 comments A little confusion on the Round Robin, but now sorted out :)

John bought Only What You Need: A Memoir from further up in the list.
T.M. Raskin bought Rosemary's memoir, Can My Pony Come Too? And listed her book, Pink Tootsie.
Therefore we had two books available – John’s & T.M.s book.
To avoid confusion, I have just bought T.M.s book, Pink Tootsie.

So up for grabs on the Round Robin right now is John’s book, My Father's Son –
https://www.amazon.com/My-Fathers-Son...

If you buy this book, please state that clearly here and list your own book which then becomes the next one available to other members for purchase and review.
