Janice (lostfamilies) | 111 comments I get my books on the Kindle & have read the the books in Ice Mountain
An Amish Courtship on Ice Mountain by Kelly Long is stated that it not due out until 4th March 2025 this seems to date that is so far in to the future is seems silly
Does anyone know when this is due out
Hugs Janice

Why not ask Kelly? She's a Goodread's author.

No worries Janice. I sent her the question. I hope we get a reply soon. I personally don't want to have to wait until 2025 to find out what else is going to happen up on the mountain!

If you got to the top of this page, you'll see on the right hand side, under Fans of Amish Fiction, columns of things to click on. I went to members and them searched for Kelly. It took me to her page where you can ask questions.

Janice (lostfamilies) | 111 comments Oh Thank you Barbara
What do you think of the series i love the storylines but wish the romantic side wasn't quite so detailed shall i say while they not what some say soft porn but is much more than you expect in an Amish book so if you skip that part the books are good
I look forward to hearing the reply she sends you i will be away for a week so if you say i won't reply until i get back home
Hugs Janice

Wow, are you serious? That sure isn't the kind of Amish fiction I want to read! I could go for less god-talk in their books, but I sure don't want lusting or sex instead!

Janice (lostfamilies) | 111 comments I agree with you in part i felt she spoilt the story with the bedroom scenes & while i have seen worse & if it says sex explicit i won't read it this is not giving a detail of an sex act so wouldn't say that it not porn but i do think just saying that they are attracted to each other with the looks or slight touch to me would be much better for not only this type of genre but also for the storyline it like less is more

C. | 84 comments Thank you so much for the heads up, this series sure won't go on my TBR list!

I like my reads 'clean', though I can take scattered mild curses and skip over a couple short-not-to-graphic sexual scenes in a secular book, I just don't expect it or tolerate it in Amish or [Christian] fiction. I hold those to a higher standard!

Leave out the countless~ 'God has a plan/God will take care of everything' stuff, but don't replace it with immorality/sex scenes!

message 11: by Janice (new)

Janice (lostfamilies) | 111 comments This is not graphic sexual scenes it mentions the bust & hand moving or brushing the breast also the man has top of worse I read was the man being in a bath & was getting washed so I skipped that half a page at most the book certainly don't give graphic details of what goes on between the couple it just telling you that as a married couple they do are shall I say more romantic
If you have a kindle get a sample before buying I will still be getting the next book as it's just not what you expect from an Amish book or the author
Hugs Janice

C. | 84 comments LOL, thank you for clarifying that, Janice. What you described would be totally fine in a secular book, just blows me away that it's in an Amish book.

Of course we know that Amish couples have sex, and I would hope for their sakes that it's fun and romantic and passionate, it just feels funny for it to be shared about 'them', lol!

I do have a Kindle so I could read the sample, though I'm pretty sure it won't have one of 'those' parts, haha.

Janice (lostfamilies) | 111 comments I am not sure if it has or not got them in but i seen worse on a bond film or a film that for 15 year olds wouldn't rate it 18 but just a warning that it is there which for me wished it wasn't but will say some of it goes in the book where in other books such as the Time Traveller's wife i felt was just put in for shock with all the swearing in the book & some so strong i skipped it where i could
I will also add that i know that i will at some point re-read the series
Hugs Janice

Tina Watson | 222 comments Kelly is aware of the 2025 date.
I personally sent her a message at the end of May.
She told me she was going to let the publisher know about the date.

Tina Watson | 222 comments I dont know if this will help or not about explaining the graphic scenes in this series by Kelly Long.
She has stated more than once that she is felt it's important to make others aware of sexual abuse that's being done to young boys.
Therefore, she has these scenes in the series so that her readers are getting the full effect that sexual abuse has on a victim.
How the abuse plays a role in the victim's life when they are in a relationship and or marriage.

Janice (lostfamilies) | 111 comments Thanks Tina
These was not an abuse most was just when when they are married & enjoying what we do when we are married or they have not had sex in the marriage yet & they are for want of a better word teasing before they finally consummate their marriage
I do enjoy the series just wish she would miss this part out
