Welcome To The Pack!

We're the Dholes, a wild dog native to Asia.

Dholes are efficient predators and communal pack hunters, roaming the jungles and forests of Central and East Asia, filling the humid air with whistles, howls, and screeches that chill the heart of any sambar deer or wild boar. There have even been reports of dhole packs hounding – and, maybe even, killing – tigers. Dholes are clever and smart, using their skills as individuals to benefit the entire pack. We're so fortunate to have such a great role model for the next 18 weeks!


Like any newly forming group, our identity is still to be determined. We'd like to start off right and create our WOBBLE persona - a strong unified pack of individuals, ready to take on any challenge and bring it down with our combined strength.

Here's your first task. Friend me, Katie, and Sassafrass. We'll be your alpha pack leaders through the next 18 weeks, and having you on our friend lists will help with messages and other necessary tasks.

Here's your second task. Do an image search using the word DHOLE (or alternately INDIAN WILD DOG). You'll find lots of pictures of these beautiful animals. Pick one that appeals to you, one whose identity you'd like to assume for the duration of our time together. I have a plan for these images, and I'll show it to you as we get ourselves sorted out, but for now, just ...

1. You need to have a designated wobble shelf. The Dhole pack leaders have decided that we'd like you to have two wobble shelves, just to keep things straight. Set up a second self for your use only - title it Wobble TBR - so you can keep your official shelf for your finished task books only. That will help streamline the checking process. Thanks!

2. Your wobble shelf needs to have two settings for sure. First, make sure that it is set to "date read - descending" and that the date read is visible. Second, the page counts setting needs to be turned on so that it is visible. Other helpful settings would be the page covers, author, publish dates, and start dates.

There have been other battleship challenges here. I've never participated in them, though. I have heard that it will be a bit different from previous rounds, though, so I think we're going to have to wait for the rules to come out before we can plan anything. :)
