Teanka Just as during the last June toppler, I started out with a book by Patrick Modiano (his books are of a perfect length for topplers!), I chose it as a mystery book (Pat Harrington Jr and Ken Howard). It was fine, I gave it 3 stars. So You Don't Get Lost in the Neighborhood.

The books for Pat Harrington Jr and Ken Howard are cozy mysteries. You need to find another task for your book.

Cozy myseries very rarely focus on sex, profanity or violence. The murders take place off stage, and are often relatively bloodless (e.g. poisoning), while sexual activity (if any) between characters is only ever gently implied and never directly addressed. They usually takes place in a small town or village, and the sleuth is usually an amateur.

Cherie (crobins0) | 19768 comments I finished my 2nd book - Girl Missing (for best selling female author). Excellent! I love her books!

I can't update my previous post but I will after I finish mowing my front lawn and fire up my laptop.

I am 30% done with Leonard My Fifty-Year Friendship with a Remarkable Man by William Shatner (celebrity in it). Loving it!

Also started Imaginary Jesus by Matt Mikalatos . I think this one will be for humor. I don't think we have any Christen Fiction catagory. I bought it for the title a long time ago. Not falling down laughing but fun story so far. I keep thinking of Atticus and the first time he met up with Jesus. Not sure where I will go next.

See message 37 for the definition of a cozy. If the description of a book has anything about a thriller or suspense, it is not a cozy.

message 40: by Sam F (last edited Jun 19, 2016 06:58PM) (new)

Sam F | 246 comments Oh well - I'm sorry - I didn't see the definition for cozy mystery. It was definitely a mystery and they were 'snuggled' in the deserted Hamptons, so I thought it would fit. Thanks for letting me know.

Instead, the book The Winter Girl fits with the category - Horror as it is a main page genre and definitely has a Hotel California feel to it!
