Question, Comments, Discussion for 2016 Summer Challenge

Christie (christineocheallaigh) | 32 comments The only places I have traveled to are within the US...Texas, Florida, North Carolina, both Virginias, Ohio, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania...even Washington, D.C. but only passing through. I've driven through Arkansas and part of Louisiana on my way to Texas, and whatever states on my way to Florida, but didn't really stop anywhere long enough to count them. Anyone know of any books set in those states that I could add to my list? I've read all the Heather Graham books set in Florida, at least all the Krewe of Hunters books, and her Cafferty & Quinn books, except for the newest Krewe novel.

Christie (christineocheallaigh) | 32 comments Okay, thanks! I've already read Living Dead in Dallas, but because it's part of the Sookie Stackhouse series and most of them are set solely in Louisiana, I didn't even think about that one. :-P I've read all of that series except the final one, I keep getting interrupted and haven't gotten to finish it yet.

Christie (christineocheallaigh) | 32 comments I've also read Glass Houses (Morganville Vampires #1). I can't remember how far into that series I got, but I know I never got caught up to the latest one our library had at the time. I'll have to see if they have any of them for my Kindle, as I have a library fine and can't check any books out right now. :-P

Christie (christineocheallaigh) | 32 comments So far I'm all caught up on the China Bayles mysteries, will have to try to find the newest one. I've been wanting to read the Sheriff Dan Rhodes mysteries too, looks like now I have an excuse.

message 7: by Kat (new)

Kat | 50 comments Does it have to be out of the country, or can it be in the same country you live in, where you've traveled to a different state or city or a city in the same state you live in? (I don't live in the US)

message 8: by Rikke (new)

Rikke (rikkefogh) Some cities will be easy enough - like Stockholm, Venice and Paris. But does anyone know good books set in places like Singapore, Reykjavik, St. Petersburg, Dubai or Bruxelles?
I don't want to reread any books, so I'm stuck on most of the places I've been.

Karen (karenarrowood) | 12 comments Does it need to be a specific city? I've been to 48 of the 50 US states, but only a few cities/towns in many of these states...

Heather Moyes (heatherconway) Does it have to be places you've visited? I've only been to Florida, New York and Indiana. As far as the USA goes anyway.
I just finished a book based in England this week, I joined the challenge after though so it's not reflected that. I'm currently reading The Deadly Dozen about Americas most notorious serial killers, so I guess that will cover a few places lol

Memoirs of a Girl Wolf is set in Northern MI in a town called Petoskey near Lake Michigan and some of the book is set further Michigan in the Upper Penninsula
