Taylor Napolsky (taylornapolsky) My book, FB, has both an isbn and an ASIN. It has an isbn on smashwords and an ASIN on Amazon.

Which should I put when adding my book? I mean on the page where you add books, this one:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/new

Thanks!

Taylor

Taylor Napolsky (taylornapolsky) Also, in the format section, what should we select if it's available in multiple formats, such as ebook, print book and audiobook? It seems to only let you pick one.

Thanks!

Z-squared | 8580 comments each format gets a different edition. the kindle edition gets the ASIN, the ebook gets the ISBN, paperback gets an ISBN, and the audiobook gets an ISBN if it's a generic audiobook or an ASIN if it's an audible audiobook.

Z-squared | 8580 comments I should follow up by saying that after each edition is created, you (or a librarian) will combine them into a single book record on Goodreads. This will ensure that all reviews and ratings are pooled together from each edition. One of your own books, Pour, already has two editions up on GOodreads, one for the kindle version and one for the generic ebook. YOu can see them both here:

Taylor Napolsky (taylornapolsky) Wow I didn't know all that.

So for my new book should I add it twice, one for kindle with the ASIN and another as a regular ebook with the ISBN smashwords gave me? Would that be right?

And doesn't that mean I should fill out the https://www.goodreads.com/book/new form twice?

Thanks!

Yes, yes, and yes! After that, let me know if you need help combining.

Taylor Napolsky (taylornapolsky) So for my Kindle ebook where I use the asin should I click "Kindle edition" for format?

Seems like it but I don't want to mess this up. Seems like the type of thing that is hard to rectify if you mess it up.

Thanks!

Correct. And actually, editing the format on a book record to match its ISBN or ASIN is not a big deal and we do it all the time.

Taylor Napolsky (taylornapolsky) Okay I made two books—one for kindle with an asin and another as a regular ebook with an isbn.

Can someone please tell me how to combine them into a single book record, like z-squared was telling me?

Here is a link to the book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!

Hunter Jones (huntersjones) | 19 comments Can someone help me please? My book, September Ends, has split on Listopia:

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/3...

It does this a lot. If you could combine the Kindle & paperback versions forever, that would be awesome! Thank you so much for helping me!

Taylor Napolsky (taylornapolsky) I found the page that shows both my editions which need to be merged.

The book is called FB and this is the link:

https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

Can someone please help me combine them? Thank you!

Taylor, done.

Hunter, please start a new thread for requests rather than adding it to multiple unrelated threads.
