Erin Gray (texerin) | 13 comments I read The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne. Since I'd seen the movie, I knew what I was in for. The innocence of children in the midst of the atrocities of war...makes for a powerful story. With a 9 year old boy as the narrator, this is a quick, easy read...but the subject matter is far from "easy", and I suspect its impact will last.

Bev (confuzzledom) | 9 comments I read Papillon. I barely remembered the film so I didn't have high hopes for the book but I ended up really enjoying it!

Kelly I read Misery by Stephen King. If you liked the movie, then I definitely recommend reading the book because it is a bit more gruesome. It was a little tedious for me though because I knew what was going to happen more or less, but it was good. I think this is why I don't normally read the book after I see the movie.
