I'm planning to read it probably around the middle of the month. I have a chunky buddy read coming up and plan to start this one as soon as I finish that one. I look forward to the discussion too.

LOVED it.

I agree completely! Maybe not as epic as some others but 100% enjoyable and a fast read as you want to keep turning pages.
::chants to herself:: I will not give in and break my promise about series reads ....... I will not give in ...... ::chants to herself::

haha, you should really read this one (if you only read the first one than it's not a series read!)

Absolutely Kristie! :-)

I didn't know it was a series read when I read it...it can stand alone. Hmmm....just pretend you are like me and don't know there is a series.

I have trouble not finishing series, but really this one is a stand-alone IMO. I didn't feel an urge to run out and check out #2. Maybe one day, but not right now.

don't resist Lynn.. give in. I say that mantra to myself all the time. It never works lol
I'm going to read this during a read-a-thon/challenge that I'm doing starting the 18th. I can't wait!

You know Lynn, sometimes rules are made to be broken :).

I bought the book, but I'm in the same boat Lynn.. (also in a massive reading slump.... but I think I'm slowly crawling out of that).
I've lost interest in so many series from waiting, or been so frustrated waiting for a conclusion, or had to read the whole series again.... I'll wait with this one at least til the end of the year (I think book three comes out early next year?, could be wrong).
But I support your decision :)

However, I didn't like Vicious all that much either .. V.E. Schwab and I just don't click. Plus, it's really not a bad book at all. I'm not keen to read the next one though.
I finally finished! I thought it was great and just really entertaining. I'm giving it 4 stars and would definitely be interested in reading the rest of the series.

Just looked at the series and the synopsis for book 3 states that it is the conclusion, so you don't have too long to wait before you can read the series.

Kell is one of the last Antari, a rare magician who can travel between parallel worlds: hopping from Grey London — dirty, boring, lacking magic, and ruled by mad King George — to Red London — where life and magic are revered, and the Maresh Dynasty presides over a flourishing empire — to White London — ruled by whoever has murdered their way to the throne, where people fight to control magic, and the magic fights back — and back, but never Black London, because traveling to Black London is forbidden and no one speaks of it now.
Officially, Kell is the personal ambassador and adopted Prince of Red London, carrying the monthly correspondences between the royals of each London. Unofficially, Kell smuggles for those willing to pay for even a glimpse of a world they’ll never see, and it is this dangerous hobby that sets him up for accidental treason. Fleeing into Grey London, Kell runs afoul of Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations. She robs him, saves him from a dangerous enemy, then forces him to take her with him for her proper adventure.
But perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save both his London and the others, Kell and Lila will first need to stay alive — a feat trickier than they hoped.
