B | 1 comments It's set in the 1700's or early 1800's America. It starts out with a man burying his recently deceased wife and remarries a woman he does not love out of convenience to help settle the new America. I believe they are in Tennessee and I remember them crossing the Cumberland Gap. One scene that sticks out is they are sleeping by an outdoor fire that had snakes burrowed in it and the snakes come out and bite them. Any help?
