Hi So I have to read a Holocaust book for English and I have it narrowed down to 5 choices.
The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom
All But My Life by Gerda Weissman Keller
The Cage by Ruth Minsky
Maus and Muas II by Art Spiegelman
The Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen
Which ones do you recommend the most?
(Please do not give suggestions not on this list. No Diary of Anne Frank or Boy in the Stripped Pajamas or Night. They're all good books but it has to be from a list she gave us)

Dee that's a hard question, i've read 3 of them (The Hiding Place/the Complete Maus - so Maus I/II, and The Devil's Arithmetic) - they each have their strengths and weaknesses - personally, while I liked the Complete Maus - I don't know if it would work for an english class book for me, since it is a graphic novel, but it is something different; the Hiding Place looks more at the resistance aspects of the Holocaust, as well as the role of faith and the Devil's Arithemtic is probably the most relatable since the main character is in her teens

personally, if I had to pick, i'd probably go the Hiding Place - but then I like reading about the ordinary people who are willing to stand up to waht is right

Thanks! And in your comment, you opened a parenthesis but never closed it. Sorry if I'm being a grammar Nazi.

Dee fixed - sorry, I was on my way out the door and honestly, when I type stuff on GR, I rarely consider whether my punctuation, grammar etc is correct - writing for schoolwork is a whole other school

Robert Mulkey Hope this isn't too late, but I'd go with The Hiding Place.
