This one was not as compelling for me as the second installment. I still enjoyed the listen but the new characters, while interesting, were not as compelling as those in the prior book. And, there were just too many brink of death incidents for Holden and Naomi - just way too many.
I'm about 26% in. This is the first time I've seen Holden be the practical one among the crew. All it took was the risk to his ship. Not the universe, not a war, not a holocaust, his bloody ship. I'm liking the bio add ons Melba has, I want some. You never know. I think this takes place one or two years after the events of the last book.
65% in. This book is so good! There are so many quotes that are not just exemplary but life advice. "In her experience, most strong-willed men had equally strong-willed mothers, and she knew how to hit some of the same buttons."
Finished! Here's my review. I'm well behind on reviews but this one had to get done, after all, it's my second read through. Lol.
