Scott "Trinity Night" needs to remain on these books as that is how the covers read, but Scarlett can remain as secondary author.

No, this is contrary to Goodreads policy. All editions of a book must keep the original author name as primary author.

However, I have added the new covers for all three books and set it as primary for each.

A book's entire publication history is preserved on Goodreads. I'm sorry if that is upsetting for you, but that is how it works here.

A book's entire publication history is preserved on Goodreads. The book has been published under both names; editions with both names will be preserved on Goodreads.

Goodreads is not like a bookstore, but more like a library. We keep all book records. Bookstores only keep the most recent.

Z-squared | 8580 comments Scarlett, it's because we're all afraid to talk to you and start a flame war. I'll try, but if my answers don't work for you, your only option is to contact support directly here:

Goodreads is not a bookseller, it's a virtual database that, like a library, does not remove published books from its catalog. Ever. Since the first editions of your books were published under "Trinity Night", policy is to make that the primary author on all subsequent editions. There are a variety of reasons why this is policy, but the one most important to users is that they will know that Howl by Trinity Night is the same as Howl by Scarlett Grove. That policy is pretty much set in stone, and I've never seen it overruled, sorry.

However, adding Scarlett Grove as a secondary author on all editions will ensure that searching by that pen name will always bring up your books. Furthermore, since you have claimed the Trinity Night profile as well, you have the ability to set the default edition of each of your books to the new covers. Doing so will ensure that searches by the book's name will bring up your new cover first. Also, the new cover will be what appears on the Scarlett Grove profile.

These workarounds will ensure that anyone searching by either author name or the books' titles will find your book. The books will also appear with the covers you wish on your author profile. No users will be confused (in fact, quite the opposite), and I have also edited the 'url' field on each book to go directly to your web page, which will also help users find your books. This isn't the first time authors on Goodreads have had to link the same book to multiple pen names, and these workarounds really do work, I promise!

Here are directions on how to set the default edition (which I believe you will have to do while logged on as Trinity Night):

The new editions have already been set as the defaults.

Scarlett, I am sorry you feel I have not been speaking to you like a person. That is certainly not my intent.

Pisceschick | 34 comments You aren't being singled out, the policy is the same for every author and every book... A Librarian making inappropriate changes loses their privileges (we are, by the way, merely unpaid volunteers and not Goodreads employees), so your best bet really is to email the website staff at the link posted above.

Here's the relevant section of the Librarian Manual:

Hope that helps.
