I read this at the end of last month because these books are really popular at my library and I had been on hold for it for a while... it was due back so I had to read early. I really liked it a lot... I gave it 4 stars and am on hold for the next book. Enjoy!
Just started and it starts so well! Plus I have a beautiful hard cover copy from the library which is so nice!
Eeeeek...the way you said "wow" is now making me debate whether I should drop the book I was supposed to read and move this up!
I finished it and did not care for the cliff-hanger aspect, but that will come up in the discussion.
I started my reread last night. It'd been three whole days that I hadn't even picked up a book so what better way to get my reading mojo back than a trip to Sebastian's regency London?Charlene wrote: "I finished it and did not care for the cliff-hanger aspect, but that will come up in the discussion."
Charlene, believe it or not, the ending could've been much more cliffhanger-ish. No spoilers here, but the author said that her publisher had her add on that very last scene in the Jarvis household. They felt that she couldn't leave the readers wondering for a whole year. lol

To Sebastian's consternation, the last person to see the Bishop alive was Miss Hero Jarvis, a woman whose already strained relationship with St. Cyr has been complicated by a brief, unexpectedly passionate encounter. It also soon becomes obvious that her powerful father has reasons of his own for wanting the Bishop out of the way. In an investigation that leads from the back alleys of Smithfield to the power corridors of whitehall, Sebastian amasses a list of suspects that ranges from some of the Prince Regent's closest cronies to William Franklin, embittered son of famous American patriot Ben Franklin. Each step Sebastian takes toward the killer brings him closer to a devastating truth that could ultimately force him to question who--and what--he really is.
