I'm sorry! I know I'm holding you back. I bit off more than I can chew with that damn challenge still going. I was hoping we would be eliminated, lol. Not really, but kinda :P I can probably get to this one Thursday or Friday. If you want to go ahead, I'll catch up!
I don't mind waiting. Maybe push the others off until next month. How about this.... you just let me know which of our books you want to start whenever you want to start it. No pressure. Just hit the thread up with "starting today" or whatever. What we don't get to this month we can start next month no problem.
Okay, I need a book with a vehicle on it. I won't be able to start it until after next Sunday. Fucking challenge! I'm not joining any new ones for a while, I'm burnt out. Famous last words....Anyway, this one works and so does Something like Summer so whichever one you want to read first!
Me too! Okay, I'll guess we'll wait and see if either of them work better with challenges at that time.
Well, okay! I'm about to watch GoT and I probably won't be able to get very far tonight because I have to work tomorrow (booo!). But yeah, let's do it. I'll catch up to you tomorrow!
Sounds good! I'm excited, lol. I feel like I can finally get caught up and read stuff that I want instead strictly challenge books. It feels good.
Me too but I burned myself out, lol. I usually do that with the ones that are a reading frenzy type. Especially when I have to read a bunch of crap books. I'm sure I'll be signed up for more before too long :)
I'm only on CH. 4Deacon and Zig are too cute. Wonder what was up with the bomb at the hotel? Or was it something else and I was distracted during the explanation?
Zig has quite the potty mouth, lol. It's funny when it's not your kid, huh? Lol.
"Somewhere in a kitchen drawer he shoved a stack of papers from the school..."
Deacon and I share the same organizational skills...
Bah! I'm only on ch. 7, lol. My husband decided he wanted to go shoe shopping when I got home from work. So 3.5 hours later (we did groceries too) we got home and the cold water pipe on the washing machine had rusted and was leaking.... the whole time we were gone! It was a fucking mess. So I got to spend the next 2 hours cleaning it up. I'm about to plop down and finish this up though!I haven't gotten very far but something is bugging me. Well, not bugging exactly but I keep checking because I feel like it's skipping parts. It's not, it just feels that way to me sometimes. Mostly when the killer attacks. One second I'm reading this part and everything is fine and the next there's a bomb or people are shot. I'll be expecting it now but it threw me the first couple of times, lol.
Why does the narrator have to make Lang sound like an older woman?I just got to the part where he finds out about Daniel getting released.
I've never been a huge Rhys Ford fan. I get a little bored with everything I read by her. With that being said I did like this book the best out of everything I've read so far. And I still only gave it 3 very weak stars. I liked the MCs. I am a sucker for a scarred and/or abused character. And also the bad boy turned family man. So those are the positive points of the book. I wasn't feeling the sex scenes. They were just meh. When normally I like when those type of scenes make you feel an even more chemistry between the MCs.
The mystery aspect?? Blah. I could have done without it. I 100% agree with you about it being very off putting when things blow up/catch fire/shoot bullets in the middle of the scene. It's like those scenes happen on a whim then disappear just as quickly. The author moves on rather fast as if that didn't just happen.
Anyhoo... yea.
I finished! Yeah, it was okay. Like you said, a generous 3 stars. I did like Zig and Deacon though. Lang sounded like an old woman and it made my eye twitch, lol. This is only the 2nd book I've read by Rhys Ford. I must be missing something too, lol. But at least that's one more off the TBR and I didn't hate it!
