Had this on my shelf for a while now. Been meaning to read it for ages. Thanks for giving me a good reason to pick it up!

Couple of things I'll be curious to get peoples opinions on this. Firstly what genre they think it is.I think a big part of the books popularity is that it crosses a number of genres with the best elements of each , a little bit historical fiction , a little bit horror, a bit of fantasy , a bit mystery all coming together so well.
I loved this book, and the two sequels. The characters just walk off the page and the story just hooks you from the start. I may be talking myself into a reread.
Only 122 pages in but it reminds me very much of that book about the quest for Dracula that was all the rage a few years ago. I loved it at the time but can't remember the title for the life of me. Similar mix of magic realism, horror and history.
