Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
This is set in, sort of, my neck of the woods. There was a lot of excitement in Missouri when the movie was being filmed :)

1. Do you like Nick or Amy? Did you find yourself picking a side? Do you think the author intends for us to like them? Why or why not?

2. Do you think Amy or Nick both believe in their marriage at the outset?

3. How does the book deal with the divide between perception and reality or between public image and private lives? Which characters are most skillful at navigating this divide, and how?

4. Were you satisfied with the book's ending? What do you think the future holds for Nick, Amy and their baby boy?

Colleen I thought the book overall was well crafted and well written. The characters and language was believable and realistic. And funny! I can't wait to see the movie. I picked up Dark Places as well and want to know how they'll compare. I thought Amy's treasure hunt a little out there, but I'm sure there's some people out there who would do that sort of thing. I can't believe she got her money stolen either. Seemed to change things.
