80% through Harry Potter 7. And I am tapping out to get some sleep. I may get up extra early to finish up, but no promises.
I forgot to come back and update. I got up early Sunday morning after sleeping a few hours and got to about 90% of Harry Potter at that point. I kept going to finish it. Later in the day I read a little of a couple of other books on my list to round out the weekend.
Plan:The Key to everything by Alex M. Kimmell
Artemis by Andy Weir
Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
The Lovecraft Anthology: Volume 2 by H.P. Lovecraft
I did finish all 4 books that I planned. I finished just a few minutes past 8pm on Saturday. I kept forgetting to check in here during the event, though. The goodreads app on android is a bit hard to navigate and I wasn't near my computer most of the day. Oh well.
For the upcoming readathon (October 2020), I am going to switch things up a bit. I love the idea of setting aside large chunks of time to read, but I am not good at staying up all night. I managed to get a few days off from work in a row, so I am going to do a 4 day readathon! I will be setting up a reading block for 10-12 hours a day from Friday - Monday. My current to read pile:
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire
Dictionary Of Classical Mythology by J.E. Zimmerman
Catwings by Ursula K. Le Guin
Jane on Her Own by Ursula K. Le Guin
Wonderful Alexander and the Catwings by Ursula K. Le Guin
Tales of the Catwings by Ursula K. Le Guin
Star Force: Origin Series Box Set by Aer-ki Jyr
Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood
This year, my readathon may be a bit truncated as I am getting my 2nd COVID shot and may end up bailing early. So my TBR is short this time.
The Temptation of Elizabeth Tudor: Elizabeth I, Thomas Seymour, and the Making of a Virgin Queen by Elizabeth Norton
The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson
Don't Believe It by Charlie Donlea
Progress update: 136 pages of 240 of Don't Believe It. On hour 4 of 10 of The Temptation of Elizabeth Tudor. 50% through The Rithmatist.
I keep forgetting to udpate here during readathons. I am planning on doing the summer readathon in July 2022. My currently planned books are:
Orinstar by Peter Helton
Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt
The Incredible Winston Browne by Sean Dietrich

[book:People of the Sea|438..."Good luck with your stack, Lavender!
My readathon got cut short on Saturday because I attended a memorial for a friend's father and then visited another friend in a medical facility. That took up a good 8 hours and just tired me out in general. I still read at least a little from each of the books I mentioned in my earlier post, but not nearly as much as I was hoping. Next time!

That is more important than a readathon. Sorry that you have to go through that.

These are my plan's for the Dewey's Summer 24hour Reverse Readathon. I will read, at least a little, from each of these books starting on Friday 7/18. I do not expect to complete them all, but maybe 2 or 3 of them. This weekend is also ReaderCon near Boston, MA, so I will be attending several bookish panels, so I think that counts, too! :-)
People of the Lakes by Kathleen O'Neal Gear and W Michael Gear
Bones Never Lie by Kathy Reichs
Helen of Troy by Margaret George
Gantz /11 by Hiroya Oku
Gantz/12 by Hiroya Oku
Blood of Elves by Andrzej Sapkowski
by The Pharaohs by Joyce A. Tyldesley
Sounds like a bookish weekend in multiple ways - how fun!I have a lot of the books by Kathleen O'Neal Gear and W Michael Gear, physical copies, I have never read them but always intended to try one someday and see. I really need to if anything to clear room out lol.
I spent more time in panels than I did reading, but I expected that going into this weekend. I finished 2 books (the manga ones) and made decent progress in all the others. Listened to the audio book on the drive to and from the convention. I woke up extra early and read every morning before the first panels, and read into the evening after panels.
These are my plan's for Dewey's Fall 24hour Readathon. I will read, at least a little, from each of these books starting on Friday 10/17. I do not expect to complete them all. I have some spooky Halloween events to attend as well, assuming the weather cooperates.
