John Oakey (mroakey) Our essential question for this unit is: How should we respond to betrayal, tragedy, and injustice? Answer the question by describing which of these three your character is dealing with, and how they respond.

For example, Junior has lots of ways of coping with tragedy in his life. One way is humor; another is drawing. He says, “I think the world is a series of broken dams and floods, and my cartoons are tiny little lifeboats” (Alexie 6). In other words, his drawings give himself and others hope, keeping them afloat above sadness.

Irving Guante | 1 comments I plan to read The Skin I'm in By: Sharon G. Flake. This is about a poor girl who get taunted by people for her skin color and being poor. It is tragedy because she always get taunted for skin color. Her friends and the new teacher's attitude help her to deal with her problems.
