Emily Ann | 78 comments I am a tree
That lonely sound
Sending whispers through the ground

I was brought in by the wind
That blew by you
Untwining old and weaving new

I saw your lover
When he turned away
After you had called to stay

I raised my arms
To catch the rain
That desperately tried to drench your pain

And when the clouds
Had given up
I watched the rivers they had sculpt

I saw the eager stars
Crowd up
Filling the sky like a cup

And for those hours
Nothing stirred
And I saw her longing sadness cured

As I stood
I watched time go
Watched it sow rapture, bliss or woe

I saw the summer
Pass me by
And I saw it slowly die

I saw the fall
tumble down
swirling leaves, like a gown

I saw the winter
Grow so cold
Under it's weight I began to fold

And at last I
Felt the hope of spring
And the warmth that it would bring
