The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

Synopsis: After the grisly murder of his entire family, a toddler wanders into a graveyard where the ghosts and other supernatural residents agree to raise him as one of their own.

Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn't live in a sprawling graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts, with a solitary guardian who belongs to neither the world of the living nor of the dead. There are dangers and adventures in the graveyard for a boy. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, then he will come under attack from the man Jack—who has already killed Bod's family . . .

Beloved master storyteller Neil Gaiman returns with a luminous new novel for the audience that embraced his New York Times bestselling modern classic Coraline. Magical, terrifying, and filled with breathtaking adventures, The Graveyard Book is sure to enthrall readers of all ages.

Maya Pankratz (simply__stardustx) | 98 comments I just finished this book and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Normally, I read books for an older audience, so when I picked this one up, I was thinking, "Ugh, I won't like this at all. It's a little kid book." Obviously, I was very suprised by how much I liked it. I'm really glad I decided to read it.

Kristina | 66 comments I really like the book and story. It's is for a younger crowd but I enjoyed the characters and the story line. Now I have another book to recommend to my 10 year old.

I've actually never read any books by Neil Gaiman, but I hear a lot of praise about his work - similar to what you said. I won't get to this one this month, but I still plan on reading it at some point, though.
