Jan Spongberg | 4 comments I read a book that was in a series. The series was about 2 detectives male and female. I believe it started out that they were partners but by the time of the book that I read they were married and possibly having communication problems. The story was based around a woman who was married but had no children of her own. She was the guardian of her best friends 2 children after her friend died in a house fire. Another subplot is her family was on holiday at a rented home and her sister, brother in law and 2 boys disappeared in the night for about a day returning without any explanation. I would like to read more in this series I just cannot remember the name of the book or the author. Also, the female detective's sister was having an affair with a married detective on the detectives' team.

Tab (tabbrown) | 4839 comments How many years ago did you read this book (the house fire one)?

Do you know how many books are in the series? Trilogy, more?

Remember anything about the covers?

Jan Spongberg | 4 comments I read it this year - but that doesn't mean its a current book. I do not know how many books there are or what the cover looked like. Other than it said it was a "? and ?? story/book" ? and ?? being the name of the husband and wife that is escaping me. :)

Tab (tabbrown) | 4839 comments Here are a few husband+wife mystery series. The tip about the title being "[name]and [name] story" helped.
Most of them are not Scandinavian.

Richard and Amelia Patton

Wilson & McLeish Mystery series

Madoc Rhys series

Constance and Charlie Series

Charlotte & Thomas Pitt series

What time period was the series set in?

Was the couple a pair of detectives or a pair of sleuths doing detective work (like a baker and teacher solving crimes).

Ficie | 65 comments A couple of Scandinavian series that feature a couple of married detectives:
Anne Holt's Vik & Stubø series
Camilla Läckberg's Patrik Hedström and Erica Falck series

They weren't detectives, but Per Wahlöö and Maj Sjöwall (who were romantically involved but not married) wrote a series together, featuring detective Martin Beck

It's old, dating to the 60s and 70s.

Jan Spongberg | 4 comments No that is not it - but thanks :) THe series was definitely about the couple detectives - who by the time of the book I read were married but the relationship was rocky.
