Enjoyed Death of a Naturalist, a book of poetry by Seamus Heaney. Memories of a rural childhood; nature, cruelty, kindness, the old ways, the changing ways. Reminds me of stories I've heard of growing up on farms in western Canada as the culture changed from populated rural communities dependent on manual labour, each other, nature, the use of farm animals and self-sufficiency to industrialized agriculture dependent on machines, gasoline and scarce populations.
