Bonnie Abrams I picked up this book by chance, thinking it was about Israel and when I saw it was about Jerusalem, New York, I was actually more excited because I lived in Yates County for many years and knew all the towns and cities mentioned in the book. The writing was very clunky. It seemed that punctuation and tenses were incorrect. Sometimes - I had to read sentences twice to understand what was being said! But I liked the underlying story. I came of age around the same time as the main character. So my recommendation has a caveat - if you can get past the writing style (and the trivial ending sentence), it's a sweet story with a happy ending...

Jill I agree with the opinion in the above post about this book being a sweet story with a happy ending. However, it is a very well written book- the type of story that flows, and is riveting and meaningful. I recommend this book to anyone who would enjoy a refreshing wonderful story. Well worth the read, and no caveat needed.
