Hey! I explained how this will be in the ask questions section, but on regards to defining contemporary, it is realistic fiction.. Historical could be one of the themes, etc. as long as there isn't anything supernatural or unrealistic then it is a contemporary. For now we are only limiting it to YA contemporary but we would definitely expand later.

Anyone can put in suggestions.. As many as you like but I can see how overwhelming that is. We still haven't worked out the details for the method but if you have any suggestions on how to run it, let us know! :)

let us know if you have any theme suggestions! :D

message 31: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice Masaluñga (beatricemasalunga) How about something related with Independence Day? :)

message 32: by Orlane (new)

Orlane | 4 comments For the July theme, as was thinking maybe "darker" contemporaries dealing with serious issues, like:
-If I stay by Gale Forman
-Don't look back by Jennifer L. Armentrout
-Faking normal by Courtney C Stevens
- It's kind of a funny story story by Ned Vizzini
-any Ellen Hopkins' books
- by Laurie Halse Anderson: Speak, The impossible knife of memory,...

Another idea of theme could be "romance" with a Katie McGarry book , a Colleen Hoover,...

Those are just some suggestions :)

Juhina | 68 comments Mod
We actually decided on a road trip theme for July! seems perfect for that month don't you think?

@beatrice, many people here aren't from the US and don't really celebrate independence day :)

and @Orlane, we will be doing the darker theme soon.. maybe October?

We will post the poll for the road trip july books soon, June 10 to be exact! :D

Jo (lillygoodreads) | 3 comments And a christamsy theme for december would be awsome! ^^ :)

message 36: by Emmanuel (new)

Emmanuel (emdawgreads) | 5 comments Maybe The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer for October? It's sort of got that eerie feel to it (I'm guessing, haven't actually read it yet) that could go well with October and Halloween and all that.
Also, the third one comes out in November so that'd be a good time to read the first two books!

message 37: by Emmanuel (new)

Emmanuel (emdawgreads) | 5 comments Then again, I don't know if that's considered just Contemporary haha

we are actually going for thrillers for October! Unbecoming isn't really a contemporary but we might make an except for the thriller theme :D thanks for the suggestion!
