I probably should refrain myself from signing up for MOARRRR stuff...but edX courses are amazing. Well, at least the ones I've tried out / completed. Thanks a lot!

If it's anything similar to the courses I've done at edX up until now, it's gonna be definitely worth the effort. I'm only a bit pissed off that they don't offer any certificate other than the $45 one. Plenty of MOOC still offer a free version of the certificate and although I won't say that those equal paid education IRL, well you never know if they might come in handy.

you can still link it to your linkedin page and it helps during job interviews. among my friends its normal to have at least 3 or 4 of mooc courses to show interest and demonstrate how current you knowledge is esp in your own field.

so it cant replace full degree but I wouldn't dismiss it in this job market.

Robert Kafadar tomorrow at 1 pm UTC!!!

Lets prepare for school. before we start I advise you find a study partner. I have noticed I stick to the end and memorize more if I have somebody to discuss lectures one on one. Not to mention
improving my attendance.

Robert Kafadar for the undecided:

"Gloria Steinem's Role

We will be featuring Gloria Steinem a bit differently than the other activists in the course. She will not be one of the activists you will choose to study in-depth and discuss in your study groups.

Instead, in each weekly lecture, Lauren Duncan will apply the theory of the week to some aspect of the life and work of Gloria Steinem. These examples, embedded within the lecture videos, are illustrated by video clips from Gloria Steinem’s 2007 oral history interview for the Voices of Feminism project at Smith College. In addition, we conclude each week with a video of Gloria Steinem discussing a contemporary issue or event that relates to the theory of that week.

Please take some time to review Gloria Steinem's bio and timeline so you are familiar with her life and work."
