Ashley Basile (ahunsicker) | 280 comments March 2016 Monthly Challenge - Luck of the Irish
Duration: March 1, 2016 through March 31, 2016

Every year on March 17, the Irish and the Irish-at-heart across the globe observe St. Patrick’s Day. What began as a religious feast day for the patron saint of Ireland has become an international festival celebrating Irish culture with parades, dancing, special foods and a whole lot of green.

Choose a reading level ...

Reading Levels:
Easy - 2 books
Medium - 4 books
Hard - 6 books
Read-a-holic - 8 or more books

and any (or all) of the following and get to reading...

Topics:
1. Book with a green cover.
2. Book with the word "GREEN" in the title.
3. Book with a gold cover.
4. Book with the word "GOLD" in the title.
5. Book with a parade in the text (ie the character is in a parade), or in the title of the book.
6. Book with the word "LUCK" in the title.
7. Book with an Irish character or set in Ireland.
8. Book with Leprechans in it.
9. Book with a Saint in it.
10. Book with a character or author named "Patrick".

Challenge Rules:

→ When you sign up for the challenge, please post some kind of a place saver (i.e. a comment) so that I can link you up under the participants. Once you have decided on your books, just edit that post so that the link under the Participants List will go to your list!

→ When you finish reading a book, please edit your post and add the date completed.

→ You may only use each book once in the challenge, but feel free to use the same titles in other challenges!

→ When you complete the challenge, please copy and paste your entire, completed list as a brand new message to make it easier for everyone to see what you've read, and to have your name marked as "completed".

→ If you decide that you've bitten off more than you can chew, feel free to let me know you'd like to downgrade, or even back out of the challenge. BUT, please do not delete your original post! It will mess up the links to other participants' postings if you do.

Happy Reading!

Myst | 108 comments Argh, my plans for this month won't line up with this challenge unless I do *really* good and get through:

The Darkest Touch
Harmful Intent
Vital Signs
Tangled Threads
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

Read-a-long:
Treasure Island
The Dead Zone

New releases:
Dark Promises
Fire Touched

Then I can read The Coffin Dancer (Lincoln Rhyme, #2) by Jeffery Deaver (green cover) and Imitation in Death (In Death, #17) by J.D. Robb (Roarke is Irish).

But don't sign me up just yet.

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) Can you read more than one book per topic? Can I read 3 books with green covers?

I luckily started reading a book and found that it was about Leprechauns. Same thing happened when I started another book and it happened to have a saint in it. I guess I was lucky on this challenge!

I had that happen with Patrick, so I got to move a book from green cover to that. I actually think the saint one might be the hardest or the parade. I guess I just don't read a lot of these types of books so this challenge is hard for me :)

Paulette Done! Crimson Bound was interesting. I don't know why I didn't get into it more than I did - it has a lot of the things that I really like in books, and it didn't really have anything that I really don't like, but... it was ok. Thank you to whoever originally pointed that book out as having a saint in it, it *was* worth reading!
