Hello :-D
So it's been a lazy Saturday, which is a nice time to read and write and all that good stuff. I read some of Sky on Fire and then wrote a poem that I'd like to share:
Web of Hope
I came to be with fingers stretching out on every side
I was small and couldn't fly but my capacity was wide
And I had my own oasis where clouds and stars collide.
Serendipity grows above the lovely fields of fractured rainbows
With lakes of Eden swirling streaks of incandescent blue
With swans and fawns and all earth's tenderhearted creatures too.
I saw everything, an eye for every blade of grass
My little face- eight beady twinkling orbs of glass
So many shades surrounded me and I looked everywhere
The lucent colors bloomed, a sight I had none with to share.
My heart sang out in protest when my body sent to sleep
No warmth, no bonds, no promises for me to keep
Though shadows rose above my head and whispered doubt.
I knew that day the change would have to come about.
Between two weak branches on the old twisted willow tree
I was the world, and great green earth was getting lonely
Alas I found a delicate space to start
anew
And my spider webs were built to capture you.

Aurlius, i really like your poem!!!!!
This is very beautiful! Many times people have trouble keeping a poem as intricate as this one from becoming confusing, but you did a great job of informing the reader while still making sense. Very well done!

One thing I always tell people about myself is that I love poetry- reading and writing it. It started out as a love for making songs on the spot as a little kid and a fascination with rhyming words. My love for poetry grew from there, and I started trying to give what I wrote more depth. It gradually improved until I startes to consider my poetry as my work and not just my hobby or a way to pass the time. It takes much longer to finish a poem now, and I love it more than ever. So I made this thread to post some of my poems so I'm not the only person in the world who can see them. I hope you guys like them!
