Watch this space as we update information on local hotels and attractions in Seattle for GRNW 2014

Hotels Downtown - GRNW Block - NOW FULL

The Hotel Monaco (across the street from the Library)
http://www.monaco-seattle.com/

Our Hotel Monaco block is now full. You can still use the below link to reserve a room, but it won't be at the block rate of $199.

Please visit here to book online: https://gc.synxis.com/rez.aspx?Hotel=...

This year's rate is higher than last year's which is unfortunate, but it was increased due to many events that same weekend, including a big Seahawks game.

Other Nearby Hotels

There are MANY hotels and places to stay downtown:

The Moore Hotel (About 9 city blocks from the library)
http://www.moorehotel.com/

*The Moore is a very affordable choice downtown. If you wish to save, we recommend booking early. Quite a few GRNW attendees stayed there last year. They also have some big suites that can be shared and aren't too expensive.

AirBNB (Rentals all around the city): https://www.airbnb.com/

AirBNB is another affordable option to explore, and there are rentals downtown as well as in nearby neighborhoods.

The Hotel Seattle (Across the street from the library)
http://thehotelseattle.com/index.asp

*The Hotel Seattle is also a more affordable hotel BUT I would recommend calling them to try to make reservations. They're not showing availability in September yet on their website.

The Ace Hotel (About 15-16 city blocks from the library)
http://www.acehotel.com/seattle

The Executive Hotel Pacific (Across the street from the library)
http://www.executivehotels.net/downto...

The W Hotel Seattle (Across the street from the library)
http://www.starwoodhotels.com/whotels...

Hotel Vintage Park (Across the street from the library)
http://www.hotelvintagepark.com/

Hotel Max (About 9 city blocks from the library)
https://mobile.ihotelier.com/mbe/mobi...

Green Tortoise Hostel (About 7 blocks from the library)
http://www.greentortoise.net/

*This is a youth hostel, so very affordable, but recommended for those who are good with the youth hostel experience.

This Yelp page also has more hotels in the downtown area. For those wanting to gauge proximity to the library, the library is at 4th Ave and Spring Street.

And for anyone local who has recommendations about places to stay or fun things to do in Seattle, please feel free to share them in the comments. :D

Annabeth Albert (annabethalbert) | 44 comments Anyone looking for friendly, fairly quiet roommate? I stayed at the Monaco last time and really enjoyed it. For $464, with tax for Friday & Saturday Nights, there is a 2 Queen Room at the Executive Hotel Pacific. $232 a person for both nights would awesome :) I'll be coming up from Oregon on the train on Friday. I'll go out with the group on Friday and Saturday nights, so I may be late getting in both nights, but I don't smoke or drink myself, and I'm a pretty well-behaved roomie :)

I can attest that Annabeth is pretty cool, and would make a nice roomie. :)

Pearl Love (muse_neko) | 3 comments I just booked for two nights at the Hotel Seattle. The rate was $94/night + tax. It doesn't get any better than that!

message 5: by Susinok (new)

Susinok I'm showing up a week early to see Seattle and the surrounding area. I'm staying at a vacation rental apartment on Phinny Ridge. It's a bit away from downtown, but I really dislike hotel rooms when traveling.

J. Vaughn (jayvaughn) | 2 comments If anyone really wants to come but can't swing the hotel price, I can offer up room in my apartment. I live three blocks (literally!) from the Hotel Monaco. I'll kick my teenage kids out for the weekend, so their room is available, and there is also carpeted floor space, if you'd prefer. I'm currently watching a friend's cats with no timeframe on when they are going back, so if you're allergic my place is probably not a good option for you. Let me know if you're interested or have questions.

Susinok I am staying at a vacation rental on Phinny's Ridge (Did I get that right?), up north of the city in a neighborhood. I'm showing up a week early in order to go to the national parks and tour the city. It will be my first trip up to Seattle.

Angela Diel | 9 comments I booked at Hotel Seattle. Can't wait for September.

For those who wanted the Monaco, looks like there may be only one room left in our block. (They may be able to extend, but if you really want to stay there at that rate, I would book now.)

Mtsnow13 | 8 comments I went ahead and rented an apartment for 3nights for $80 per night because I'm driving. Most hotels charge about $17 per day to park! This place I found on AirBnb is in East Beacon Hill area right on the busline but I'm also hoping I can find an all-day lot near Pike Street so I can walk to the Monaco.. Anyone know if that's possible?

I'm combining my drive with a trip to IKEA on the way home, and it's a good excuse to listen to some audiobooks :) and Susinok, I think you'll enjoy Seattle!!

I already know I will love it! I'm really looking forward to my stay.
