Somehow, I loved this even more than the first book. It seemed a bit slow-paced at first but looking back it was more a steady crescendo. This story, and Laini Taylor's writing, creates such vivid imagery while I read that I just become consumed by what's playing out on the pages. I love the emotion and the characters and the intrigue.
