Finding this really interesting, didn't know that finger prints don't hold the sway they used to do. Just gotta figure out how to disguise my DNA now.
I really enjoyed this one, I have to admit I like a good crime thriller as much as the next person and I have a fondness for shows such as Bones and CSI. I do have a science background so for me at least I thought the author did a really good job of making the various techniques easy to understand. I learned quite a few interesting little tid bits while reading this, which is something I always love. I also found the descriptions of the real crimes in which the various techniques were used added a lot to the book, and to my enjoyment of it. Finally I found it really interesting that she included several examples of cases where the forensic techniques were either incorrectly used or interpreted poorly.
Really enjoyed this. I don't read much in the way of crime books but you can see that the author used her skills as a crime writer to make this book more readable. Some really shocking bits there too, especially the people who got sent to prison after the cyber forensics team found NO evidence on the persons computer, they said the lack of evidence means he was up to something and that they thought he was a liar. Absolute madness. Real good read.
Worth reading I though for a bunch of fascinating fact and anecdotes on criminal investigations. Thought that that part of the digital forensics bit was mad too Jason. The rest of the chapter was pretty interesting though.
