*** came across a lamp. It was old, boring, just something that he was going to give away as a present or something of that sort to an old relative. But when trying to clean it up a little, it began to glow and out came a genie. A genie with a couple of rules, three wishes and phenomenal cosmic power that was in servitude to him.

Nathaniel Lee Wong heaved boxes down the attic stairs as he was trying to clean up a bit. He coughed a bit as he blew the dust off the boxes before moving them. His nephew's birthday was coming up and he wanted to give him something that would be something cool, yet it was passed down. But nothing seemed to strike him. Sighing, he spotted a chest in the back before unlatching it; he opened the lid and looked through it. The only thing that struck him was a lamp under all the books and pictures. He picked it up before bringing it downstairs to clean it. He rubbed back and forth as he began to clean the dust off.

Tamara couldn't remember the last time that she'd been out of that wretched lamp. It felt like falling asleep in a box so when she felt the familiar tingle and sighed as she readied herself to meet her new master. She'd escaped the degrading servitude for centuries but at long last, she had to get back in the game again. Rolling her neck, she stretched her arms out over her head and felt a satisfying stretch in her back. Looking down at her wrists, she scowled at the thick gold bands that covered her wrists. "Thank you for rubbing the lamp. I am Tamara, I am now your jinn, here to do your bidding. Master," she recited, the boredom and annoyance lacing her words as she bit out the spiel.

Nathaniel jumped back a bit when he saw something or someone. He almost dropped the lamp. "Jinn?" He questioned her. "Okay, three wishes?" He added in as he began to get himself together. He glanced down at the lamp and then back at her. "I am not sure if I am dreaming. Pinch me please." He whispered to himself as he pinched himself while he closed his eyes. When he opened them, the girl who called herself Tamara was and is still there. "Looks like I am not dreaming after all." He sighed. "So what is the catch?"

Tamara crossed her arms while she waited for him to come to terms with it. It happened every time bar a few when certain believers in jinn sought out a lamp and managed to find one. Other than that, people never really knew what was going on and it made them freak out. "Not three, five. I don't even know where that rumour got started. Five wishes but I'm stuck with you till then. You have to use the words 'I wish' and address it directly towards me for it to be considered a will. A few rules. Rule number one, I don't kill people so don't ask. Rule number to, I don't bring people back from the dead. Rule number three, I can't make people fall in love," she informed him. "The catch? I see no catch to this arrangement."

He nodded as he listened to her talk before beginning to think of what his first wish would be. "Okay." Nathaniel began to come up with something, "My first wish. I wish I could clean the attic faster." He wished to Tamara as he now had four more to wish for.

Tamara raised an eyebrow at him, tilting her head to the side slightly as she looked at him like he was crazy. She thought she was. "Seriously? You've got an all powerful genie? That's what you call us right? An all powerful genie and you want to clean your attic? What has this world come to?" She asked rhetorically, looking around the room and deciding to be nice with his first wish, having a bit of sympathy for him. Waving her hand in the air, the boxes and trunks began to sort themselves, the dusters moving on their own as the whole attic came to life around them. "You've got four wishes left."

Nathaniel watched as all the boxes moved by themselves. His jaw almost dropped, but he caught himself. "Okay, I am just warming up." He informed her as he stood up and placed the lamp down. "So what are the weirdest wishes?" He asked her.

Tamara frowned as she tried to think of the weirdest wishes that she'd ever had to grant. "I had to turn a man into a flower once because the woman he was in love with didn't love him back. He wanted to be close to her so he had me turn him into a flower and deliver it to her," she answered, not mentioning the fact that she made sure the flower she turned him into was one that the woman was allergic to and she threw it out as soon as she got it.

"That is weird." He mumbled, "give me a while before I can come up with a second wish." Nathaniel told her, "but for right now you rest." He instructed as he was still amazed at what he was happening at the moment.

"Yeah, people used to be disgustingly romantic. It caused a lot of problems," she replied, flicking her hair over her shoulder and sighing softly to herself. She could never get used to the stiff metal around her wrists but she raised an eyebrow when he told her to rest. "What year is this by the way?" she asked curiously.

Nathaniel looked at her. "The year is two thousand fifteen." He answered, "like I said, go take a break and rest up a bit." He instructed before heading down to the kitchen. He was a bit hungry.

Tamara bit her lip as she thought about his answer. It had been nearly five hundred years since she'd last been out of her lamp. When he walked off, she looked around and threw her arms in the air before following him downstairs. "And where do you expect me to go to 'take a break and rest up'?" she asked him with a raised eyebrow.

He turned to her, "my home is your home." He gestured. Nathaniel looked at her, "the only thing is that if I have guests you have to go back to your lamp, okay?" He questioned her before he searched through the fridge for something he could put together.

Tamara gritted her teeth when he told her she'd have to go back into her lamp but reluctantly agreed. She wasn't able to not agree, she was bound to him. While she could only grant him five wishes, she still had to do whatever he said until that last wish was granted. Walking over to the counter, she leaned against it while she watched him at the fridge, looking around in curiousity.

When found some cheese and bread, he placed them on the counter before turning on the heat. "You can walk around if you want." He told her as he began to grade the cheese.
