We can't wait to hear your thoughts on Ch 22!
The chapter starts out with the Dewalt and the Scott families gathering to listen to the ransom demands.

id anyone else wonder how Veronica was the only to to think that Billy was in custody when the ransom demands were made? How did that one get past Lamb? Even though he is Lamb....

message 3: by Susan (new)

Susan | 24 comments It was awkward for me to be in the same room with Keith and Lianne, can only imagine how Veronica felt about it.

message 4: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 57 comments Haha you said get past Lamb, as if that is hard to do!

i agree. it was awkward!

Keith handled seeing Lianne again after so long VERY well. I was so proud of him!

message 7: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 75 comments I agree; it must've been awkward for Veronica but I'm sure it was even more awkward for Keith & Lianne

message 8: by Susan (new)

Susan | 24 comments Dawn wrote: "Haha you said get past Lamb, as if that is hard to do!"

You could probably commit a murder right in front of the man and he would miss it.

message 9: by Grace (new)

Grace | 37 comments Definitely awkward!

message 10: by Margarita (new)

Margarita Vandorou | 56 comments Not only that but even as a parent I wouldn't actually believe that this was ransom demand, it sounded so sketchy, not bringing any proof of life and all. I was very nervous about Keith seeing Lianne too

message 11: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 57 comments Lol commit the murder, then get out your wallet to pay him off and you're done!

Mia (aylaeh) Susan wrote: "Dawn wrote: "Haha you said get past Lamb, as if that is hard to do!"

LOL. He'd probably be online googling himself.

message 13: by Margarita (new)

Margarita Vandorou | 56 comments I wouldn't be surprised by anything stupid Lamp did :p lol

message 14: by Susan (new)

Susan | 24 comments The entire ransom demand seemed fake and not well thought out.

Neptune Rising | 587 comments Mod
Plot Point: Margie Dewalt asks Petra Landros to use the reward funds for the ransom demand. Petra agrees.

Don't police usually try really hard to not let you give into a ransom? Lamb hardly tried at all!

Mia (aylaeh) Margarita wrote: "I wouldn't be surprised by anything stupid Lamp did :p lol"

Lamp?!? **snicker** (sorry, just thought of a lamp-stand).

Heather Sims | 4 comments Neptune wrote: "Keith handled seeing Lianne again after so long VERY well. I was so proud of him!"

Yeah, he handled it MUCH better than I would have!

message 18: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 75 comments Yeah, I agree Lamb definitely isn't that smart but he also doesn't really care about anything except himself

message 19: by Neptune Rising (new)

Neptune Rising | 587 comments Mod
So true! He would miss it because he was busy looking in the mirror!

Susan wrote: "Dawn wrote: "Haha you said get past Lamb, as if that is hard to do!"

message 20: by Christy (new)

Christy | 98 comments I agree that the ransom seemed fake. took too long. And I thought Keith handled being around Lianne great. Better than I would have.

Susan | 24 comments Neptune wrote: "Plot Point: Margie Dewalt asks Petra Landros to use the reward funds for the ransom demand. Petra agrees.

I was surprised Lamb wasn't looking for some way to lay claim to the ransom himself.

Heather Sims | 4 comments Susan wrote: "Dawn wrote: "Haha you said get past Lamb, as if that is hard to do!"

I honestly don't think he would care if a murder was committed in front of him, as long as he could get some tv time out of it!

message 23: by Margarita (new)

Margarita Vandorou | 56 comments Yeah Lamp didn't care at all

the less Lamb has to do the better. this way he has less that he can mess up!

message 25: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 75 comments I agree; again all he cares about is about making himself look good

Plot Point: Tanner suggests hiring a ransom specialist to assist in the ransom demand.

Did anyone think this was kind of suspicious?

message 27: by Margarita (new)

Margarita Vandorou | 56 comments Of course it was very suspicious

message 28: by Mia (new)

Mia (aylaeh) Neptune wrote: "Plot Point: Tanner suggests hiring a ransom specialist to assist in the ransom demand.

yes. this is when i really knew that something was going on in the Tanner home.

Em (emtifahp) | 37 comments Susan wrote: "It was awkward for me to be in the same room with Keith and Lianne, can only imagine how Veronica felt about it."

All I could think about was how awkward it would be, just like if my divorced parents had to be in the same room together.

message 30: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 57 comments I had never heard of a ransom specialist. Hard to believe something so specific exists
enough to have a market.

message 31: by Mia (new)

Mia (aylaeh) by the way, did anyone else feel sorry for Hunter? i mean, Lianne is his mother, his father is also an alcoholic and his sister is just messed-up!

message 32: by Grace (new)

Grace | 37 comments Dawn wrote: "I had never heard of a ransom specialist. Hard to believe something so specific exists

I was thinking it was sort of like a person that deals with hostage, etc. situations.

Plot Point: Veronica feels uneasy about the families giving into the ransom demand.
"Somewhere in the pit of her stomach she had the uneasy feeling that the girls weren't going to mae it home. If the families paid out, someone was going to get away with fraud at best- and at worse, murder."

I'm with Veronica. Who else?

message 35: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 75 comments Yes, I definitely felt bad for Hunter; he seems like such a cute kidn

message 36: by Christy (new)

Christy | 98 comments I thought Tanner suggesting the ransom specialist was very suspicious. But it didn't seem like Veronica was suspicious.

message 37: by Neptune Rising (new)

Neptune Rising | 587 comments Mod
I thought the same thing!

Dawn wrote: "I had never heard of a ransom specialist. Hard to believe something so specific exists

Margarita Vandorou | 56 comments Absolutely with veronica she was spot on

message 39: by Margarita (new)

Margarita Vandorou | 56 comments I felt bad for Hunter since the moment we learned about him

message 40: by Neptune Rising (new)

Neptune Rising | 587 comments Mod
I felt so bad for the little guy! I wish Veronica cold have had more time to spend with him, and not meet him under such bad circumstances. Selfish Lianne hadn't wanted to confront Veronica and introduce her to her own brother!

Christy | 98 comments How do I quote things?

message 43: by Mia (new)

Mia (aylaeh) Hannah wrote: "Yes, I definitely felt bad for Hunter; he seems like such a cute kidn"

makes me wonder if he is going to play a part in upcoming books....

message 44: by Em (new)

Em (emtifahp) | 37 comments I didn't think the suggestion to hire a specialist was suspicious, but I thought the amount of the ransom was a little suspicious. It felt too specific

message 45: by Neptune Rising (new)

Neptune Rising | 587 comments Mod
That's true! Veronica did not protest to that specifically. Just giving into the ransom. Maybe it would have been too much of a giveaway?

message 48: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 75 comments Yeah, that just made me suspicious of Tanner; I don't trust him

message 49: by Jess (new)

Jess (backofcerealbox) | 5 comments I know it's a really hard situation, and one that I never even want to have to contemplate, but everyone seems to be ignoring Hunter. He seems to be plugging along just fine, but we never see anyone really dealing with him or trying to help him... he's in the background for everyone and it's so sad!

message 50: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 57 comments Christy I am using the app and I can't quote either as far as I can see
