You can read any book for any detour before we are at that stop, I actually have already finished a book for every detour. The other book that I have finished or the books that I'm gonna read are only if they are needed for the spell it out option if we go with that.
Started reading my zombie book
Ok so I totally forgot about the Zombie detour and have three books checked out from the library, none of them involve zombies. So can anyone give me a short story suggestion? Or does anyone know if there is a goosebumps book that involves Zombies. That's the only thing I know I can get a hold of quickly and won't take me long or interrupte my reading of these other books too bad.
Finished a book that I didn't realize was zombie filled: Prince of Fools. It was so so so so awesome. Did I mention it was awesome?

The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb looks like a safe bet. Mummy's are just old school zombies. :)
awesome, Nancymaire and Daphne I will go on the spreadsheet later and make a sheet for the next stop and add all the books.
Mummy's and Zombies's are two totally different entities. Zombies eat flesh, mummies don't. Mummies are usually cursed, and zombies are made usually by some sort of virus that went helter skelter. Some short ones I would recommend
or if your looking for a kids book
I grabbed The Zombie Chasers and Scary School from the children's section of the library yesterday to cover my zombie book. I think Scary School only has a "half-zombie" so I grabbed the other one as well to be safe.I did read The Girl with All the Gifts late last year and have to admit I enjoyed this book despite not being a zombie fan. I felt the message in the story was worthy and would recommend it as well to someone hesitant of zombies.
Okay here is the new countdown clock http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/...You have until then to read a book that has zombies in it.
I finished Zombie Tales from Dead Worlds for the "book with zombies" detour. Thanks for the recommendation Michelle! I don't tend to read these types of books but I quite enjoyed these short stories.
I finished The Zombie Chasers this weekend.I wish my book with "peas" hadn't been used. That is hard to find while reading a book.
We can only do one more detour after this one. So we can decide if we use if for "peas" or "death".

I'm really glad you liked it. Rhiannon Frater is such a talented author,

I liked it OK. While zombies may not be my first choice of subject matter, I do like most of Stephen King's work. It was a little more gruesome than I like, but the journey story line worked for me. It was a little like The Stand with zombies (albeit a LOT shorter).
Are you a King fan?
Finished my Zombie book! Would have been done sooner, but the first short story I read was not on goodreads. I have to update my computer, but then I will update the spreadsheet, so I will update in about an hour.

I used to be, but I found that he hasn't written anything that interested me since the early 90's. I picked up Cell last year on the off chance that it might be interesting, but hated the book. It was the most ridiculous zombie like story I've ever read. A bunch of people loved it and I felt like the only person in the universe to dislike it.
Sorry I haven't been on in a while. So we are up to our last detour, we just have to decide which of the last 2 stops we are going to use it on.
so we have:
Wellington, New Zealand or book containing the word Peas
or
San Jose del Cabo, Mexico or book shelved as Death
it's up to you guys what we decide, just let me know what you think would be the hardest or easiest for you to find and we can go from there.
here is the new countdown clock: http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/...
Okay I went through everyone's books and we have 2 people that have books already containing the word peas and 4 people with books that are shelved as Death.
We used my book that had peas, but I am reading a book now that also contains the word peas.I haven't added the last couple books to the spreadsheet yet, but they don't work for peas or death, only spelling.
I have been searching for peas and have been failing at finding it. I would hate the word at this point if it wasn't delicious.I have a question. Are we getting a new set of stops or are we going to stop at the last stop? I wouldn't mind continuing, but I wasn't sure if anyone else would.
I actually don't know how that works, I don't know if the whole team continues (if that's what everyone wants) or you individually sign up for another team or hitch hick with another team.
I just found this which explains if we decide to continue. When your team has completed all eight stops
◈ At the end of the trip (minimum 8 weeks), the team can decide if they want to get a new itinerary and start a new trip, or pat themselves on the back and disband :)
◈ Your first trip as a team is in Economy class. Once you have completed, if you decide to go again as a team, then you are upgraded to Business Class. In Business Class you can do a maximum of six detours (rather than 5).
If your team decide to go for a third trip, because you have accumulated enough frequent flyer points, you are upgraded to first class, and you can do a maximum of seven detours.
◈ If your team decide to not continue, you can join a new team, but you start again in economy class or you can become a hitchhiker for a team that is missing a player
I don't know it would be cool if we could, I'm also wondering if we get a new spreadsheet or if we keep the same one. but first off we need to know if we have enough of our team that wont to continue, and if not all do, do we get a hitch hiker.
I was reading the Airport Lounge thread and it seems like someone already asked if we can keep using the books in our baggage and the answer was yes. It also seems we could already get our next itinerary if we wanted. So I guess we can figure it out once most people answer.
I saw that, but I thought it meant we could use a book that we have read in the first week for a stop later on.
Well the rules do say..◈ Books count that are started after your team thread is created. Provided the book is started during your challenge period, it can be used at any point during your challenge for a task or detour.
So I guess if we continue we are still on the challenge and in the same thread, thus previous books count.
So far it's only the 4 of us that want to continue, I say we wait till more people check in to see about getting a new itinerary.
Did we decide yet if we are doing peas or spelling for this stop?My current read has peas in it, but not sure I'll get it done in the next four days. I always find e-ARC's hard to gauge. I'm 34% done, and will continue to press on.
I'm not sure, I think that not many of us will find a book that will work so we will probably end up going with the spell out for this stop and hopefully we will use the detour for the last stop.
I am willing to continue entering my books on the spreadsheet and choosing books to help us accomplish detours or locations. For our current itinerary, I believe I have completed the final 2 detours and provided a variety of choices for spell it out. If there is a tough letter which still needs filled, I am happy to quickly read for it.
I added both your peas books Michelle and Kate, so now we have 4 books read for Peas and 4 books read for Death. There is only 2 and a bit days left for this stop so let me know if you finish a book with Peas, if we don't get enough people I already filled in the spell it out part so we can go with that instead.
Okay I added it.Since there is only 4 hours left and only 4 books with peas we are going to go with the spell it out option for this stop.
So that means for our next stop we are going to try and go with the detour death, we now have 5 books so we still need one from Bookworm, Nancymaire and Andrea.
Sorry, I won't be able to finish the last part of my book with peas in it in the four hour window left. I am working on it, but I'm not a super fast reader.
It's okay, we will get more points for this stop if we go with the spell it out option then if we went with the detour.
Okay here is the countdown clock for the last stop: http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/...I was wondering after this stop if we should have a break for a week before we start on out next trip, what do you guys think?
