Keli | 1357 comments Can I read non-fiction for any of these? I've got You'll Die in Singapore' for the Indonesia leg?

message 605: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Non-fiction books are fine.

I'm on my mobile right now, have all the books listed above by various members as read been added to your individual tab on the spreadsheet? If so I can see if we have filed in all the letters for spell-it-out and we can officially move to the next spot. It will be later this evening before I get time.

message 606: by Keli (new)

Keli | 1357 comments All the ones I've read and a few I've started are on my sheet, hopefully.

Jim Townsend | 174 comments Just added Insomnia to the spreadsheet for the first R in Brazil.

Jim Townsend | 174 comments Just added 101 Baseball Places to See Before You Strike Out to the spreadsheet for the last O (as in "One Hundred One") in Porto.

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Boy, the options seems to be giving us some trouble this round.

The Z for Brazil, the U for Porto Seguro and Infidelity. I finally found infidelity in a book I was reading.

Keep plugging away and adding to the spreadsheet.

Spreadsheet..

message 610: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 3597 comments I can't remember can you use character names for the letters? If so I just finished Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs and one of the characters in their is named Zeb.

If not, I am about to start Zombie Britannica so that can be the Z.

message 611: by Jim (new)

Jim Townsend | 174 comments Good afternoon, Michelle!

You can use the first letter of a character's first or last name for the spell-out, as mentioned in message 571 of this thread.

Jim

Awesome.. Then we have our Z

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments I missed this thread update until I was going off to sleep. I won't be able to update for next leg until tomorrow evening. Not a big deal, just carry on reading and updating spreadsheet with your reads. It is much easier to have the data in the spreadsheet for updating versus going back through the thread and trying to find all the finished book post.

message 614: by Keli (new)

Keli | 1357 comments Hey travelers I'm having a tricky time updating the spreadsheet while on holiday. I'll be back home in a few days and will update mine. I can also update the "z" mentioned in previous posts then we can get some points. :)

message 615: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments I have that problem. I can't update at all unless I'm home on my laptop. None of my mobile devices have access to sheets app.

I have a bunch of books to add to spreadsheet as well.

message 616: by Keli (new)

Keli | 1357 comments All the devices I've tried require an app. When I downloaded the app it still requested that i download the stupid app! Very frustrating.

message 617: by Keli (new)

Keli | 1357 comments I hope I haven't breached any gd etiquette by putting Michelle's "Z" mentioned above onto the planning sheet, as I was updating my sheet. Thought it would be nice to get the spell it out done for the first leg.

message 618: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments I finally officially placed the first stop into the spreadsheet as finished!

SO now we are traveling to Istanbul, the detour is to read a book where a character gets a makeover.

I've updated the planning tab to show reflect the information we are looking for.

Catherine | 5067 comments Finished Liszt's Dante Symphony
Not sure if it works except in spell it out

Also finished...Sleepless in Manhattan, A Burnable Book, Miracle Road, Paris, Modigliani & Me, and The Paris Librarian and Sweet Little Lies

message 620: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 5067 comments Finished An Unhappy Medium, Coming Home, and In Bed with a Spy

Nor sure if they work for anything

message 621: by Plethora (new)

Plethora (bookworm_r) | 2239 comments Sorry, I've been slammed with some things for my daughter for the last month. I've been reading and have a ton to add to the spreadsheet, I just can only mess with it when at home on laptop.

No problem....I just keep reading.... :)

message 625: by Jim (new)

Jim Townsend | 174 comments Good morning!

I finished The Gulag Archipelago, 1918-1956: An Experiment in Literary Investigation, Books I-II by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, whose first name begins with A for the Istanbul spell-it-out.

Jim

message 626: by Keli (last edited Oct 04, 2016 04:24AM) (new)

Keli | 1357 comments So Turkey is complete and only the "u" in Istanbul remains. If we'll get more points for Istanbul please move my u from Turkey. Though someone else might also want to replace one of the other letters I've marked, L or T so that more travellers can participate.

message 627: by Catherine (last edited Oct 06, 2016 10:58AM) (new)

Catherine | 5067 comments Finoshed Death, Taxes, and a Satin Garter

Main character....Tara Holloway

message 628: by Keli (new)

Keli | 1357 comments I'll remove my T and put yours in, if that's alright. And the U can be used for either Turkey or Istanbul.

message 630: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 5067 comments Finished An English Bride In Scotland and Letters to the Lost

Still.reading :)

Are you adding all of these to the spreadsheet? You should be able to post all of this on your own tab spreadsheet and the relevant parts to the "planning" tab.

message 634: by Jim (new)

Jim Townsend | 174 comments Good morning!

I don't know if we're still traveling or if I've been thrown off the plane, but I've finished the following books since The Gulag Archipelago, 1918-1956: An Experiment in Literary Investigation, Books I-II:

Mr. Sammler's Planet
When Pride Still Mattered: A Life Of Vince Lombardi
Dire Straits
Beethoven

Jim

Keli | 1357 comments Happy holidays to everyone! Are we still travelling? I've got quite a few books to update but won't if we're done. I hope you all are having a splendid holiday time.
