How hot should the books in this genre be? What is a "realistic" portrayal of sex and relationships in Pinoy chick lit?

Many of the books now listed in this group's shelf are I would say of a "mild" heat level. Sex is acknowledged, it happens, but isn't "shown" that much. Is it because the authors aren't comfortable writing it? Is it representative of something? :)

I think it's a mix of both. But I think it can be done if the author is skilled and if the scene is in English. Personally I find it awkward to read a steamy scene in pure Tagalog. The authors of Tagalog romances do this in Taglish and without the use of (too much) graphic words. I wouldn't mind reading local chick lit with steamy scenes. I'm actually curious about how it's treated compared to Western romances.
